Wedding cake question..

Okay -- this is probably the stupidest question ever...

Yesterday was our 1 year anniversary but we forgot to have some of the cake that was frozen...

So we just cut a slice now and it is REALLY good.

Did anyone actually eat some of thier wedding cake? Or did you just take a bite and throw it away? I was expecting it to be nasty but it tasted good!

Re: Wedding cake question..

I tried a bite but was afraid of getting sick. It wasn't bad though, just a little dry.

Re: Wedding cake question..

Ours was awesome!! I was soo surprised, but it was really good! We shared it with both our families - and even my MIL who looked extremely skeptical when we told her she had to have some since it was so good, she had to admit it really was.

Re: Wedding cake question..

we had ours and it was great!! the only part we didn't eat too much of was the fondant because it got a little freezer-burned. but I guess it protected the rest of the cake because it was super-yummy!

Re: Wedding cake question..

Well, i'm not married, but for my high school graduation, my cake had a picture of my grandpa (who died 5 yrs earlier) and I on it. We were very close.

My grandma refuses to throw it out, so 6 years later, grandpa's face on a piece of cake is still in the freezer!!!

I'm still shocked that there's no mold on it by now.

Re: Wedding cake question..

We tasted ours but it was a little dry so then threw it out & ate the cake I ordered made as our wedding cake was supposed to be. Our cake was supposed to be chocolate but was yellow instead. Chat Icon

Re: Wedding cake question..

My Dh thought I was nuts when I went to my parents house and took the cake out of their freezer to eat it about 2 weeks after our anniversary (we were away and forgot all about it). He kept saying I am not eatting that and after I took a bite of the cake I knew why. It tasted like it was in the freezer for a year. Maybe we didnt freeze it the right way but the cake itself was nasty the filling wasnt that bad but it went right into the garbage.

We threw ours out the day after our wedding, since it was spoiled Chat Icon

We have a very small freezer so it was doubtful I was going to save it anyhow though!

We had a few bites of ours. It was okay, a little dry, a little freezer burned. I cant believe we kept that giant box in the freezer for a year and it wasnt even worth it.
