Any dog friendly fall festivals??

Looking for some fun weekend festivals/activities that we can take our dogs to. A couple of weeks ago there was the medevil fair at sands point - I was sick and didn't go - but I found out that it was dog friendly.

The ones coming up - huntington and oyster bay - are not allowing dogs. Does anyone know of any that do??

Re: Any dog friendly fall festivals??

I have been to the Sands Point Medieval festival. I have to say I never saw a dog there and find that hard to believe. I too look for things to take my dogs to.

The main thing coming up would be Old Westbury Gardens Fall dog days. Not sure when it is, should be October as it is every year. It's a really nice time. They are decorate for fall, have Fall contest items up such as Scarecrow contest that schools made Scarecrows there to see...etc

Check it out

Dogs are not allowed in that park, ever, even if shelter dogs are there. Many people in Huntington own dogs and they are dog friendly but that park is not so I would say you really can be asked to leave if you bring your dog.

The Riverhead fair is this weekend 10/9 and 10/10 I believe. I brought Riker last year. There were lots of dogs there as well as a few booths regarding dogs. It's HUGE and a lot of fun. Unfortunately we can't make it this year.

Really? We've brought Maddie the last two years and brought the others in the past.

Anyway, we've been to this one a few times:

eta- I contacted Huntington, they verified dogs are not allowed so just know if you do go with your pooch, they may ask you to leave. That's why I leave mine home, just in case they were to ask us to leave.

This is strange that you were told this. I go every year and there are always people with their dogs. I just went this past Saturday and I saw tons of people with their dogs.

I went Sunday, saw alot of dogs too. Guess they aren't enforcing it but also aren't "condoning" it. Oh well, either way, i would not have brought my dogs. It was so crowded, I would have worried about them getting stepped on.

If you’d like to volunteer to help with LI-DOG’s table between Noon and 4 p.m., please email us ASAP at [email protected]. You only need to commit one hour of your time. Not only will you get a great “I am an LI-DOG” bandana for your dog, but you’ll help LI-DOG grow stronger, so we can get more access to parkland for our dogs!
