Questions about Dr. Braverman

So, to follow up my previous post, I am obviously leaning toward making my first RE appointment. After reading such glowing reviews of Dr. Braverman, I am leaning toward going with him. Before I do so, I just want to get an idea of what his hours are like? Does he have early morning hours or evening hours? I work until 3:30 during the regular school year, and can probably be to him by 4:15, so it's not so bad. Also, how long do you typically have to wait to get an initial appointment? Any info would be really helpful. Thanks ladies.

First of all, Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Dr.Braverman is the best!! You will be VERY happy there!

I teach and never had a problem with getting appointments- though since I work in Brooklyn I would have to leave early sometimes because of all the traffic.

His hours are m-thurs 8:30-4:30 friday 8:30- ?? (not sure when he is there until on Fridays, actually) .. And Saturday I believe he opens at 8:30 but he isn't there very long.. maybe till like noon......

He truly is an amazing doctor who REALLY cares about his patients. The office staff is fantastic too. I got so teary when I "graduated" .. I was thrilled to be 10wks pregnant, but it was still so bittersweet leaving his practice!!

Good luck!!!!!!

Oh, and about getting the initial consultation.. I remember when I called, they would have been able to get me in that week, but I asked for it to be 3 weeks later. (I was hoping AF would show up on it's own before going to the RE and starting meds to bring it on, etc.. but that never happened and I needed Provera anyway! Chat Icon )

Re: Questions about Dr. Braverman

i got my initial appointment with dr. b in a week. i remember i called to make the appointment and i asked the nurse a question and she couldnt answer it. five minutes later dr. b called me back to chat about it Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon . i wasnt even his patient yet!!!! that pretty much sealed the deal and i havent looked back since Chat Icon .

as pennycat said above, he really is an amazing doctor and person, and i cant think of anyone else in any profession that i would recommend as highly as i will recommend him.

the hours are 8:30-4:30 most days and saturdays 8:30 - 11 or 12 i think. its not that convenient for me, but he is totally worth it. plus i can go for monitoring in the city if i cant make it out to woodbury (its not with him but he still gets all the data and makes all the decisions).

i read your other posts, and i def think you should see him since he specializes in recurrent m/c. i have PCOS and i had two chemicals. he did a lot of testing and uncovered several issues that i never knew i had. now im being treated for it and in the 2WW and Chat Icon for a sticky bean.

good luck!! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

He really is a sweetheart!!!Chat Icon

I was going to another RE and really wasnt happy there- I felt like another number and was coming on day 3 so I was getting upset that I wouldnt be able to transfer fast enough to see Dr. B. I took a shot and emailed him and explained my situation and told him that tomorrow was my day 3 and I didnt want to waste another cycle....and told me not to worry and call the office the next day to make an appt. Well, I did and they got me in for the very next day!!!!!Chat Icon

Appts I normally have to wait a little bit...sometimes half hour- 45 minutes. Its totally worth the wait because he takes the time to explain things to you and he's always available to answer many questions. Dh and I really like him!! Chat Icon

Good luck!!!!Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

ITA with this and with everything else. The afternoon appts are the longest wait but he is 100% worth it. I travelled from Queens every week to see him and it was very sad for me and DH when we had our last appt with him. He truly is the best Chat Icon
