Is this feeding amt normal for a 7 month old?

Xavier is currently eating the following:

5:45-6am-BF
7:30am 2 tbsp of oatmeal/4 tbsp of yogurt with 2 cubes of fruit.
8:00am 4 oz of formula
10:00 am 4 oz of formula
11:30am 2 cubes of meat w/ rice and 2 cubes of veggie/fruit mix
12:45 pm 4 oz of formula
3:00pm 4 oz of formula
5:30 pm 2 tbsp of oatmeal/2 tbsp of yogurt with 2 cubes of fruit/veggie mix.
7:00pm 3-5oz of formula

Is he taking in enough formula/BM? I'm worried he isn't eating enough of formula/BM and I know the early morning BF session is going to come to an end very soon. As it is now, I sometimes have to wake him up to feed him. For the most part he gets up on his own looking for boob. Chat Icon

Dd eats about 7 to 8 oz at a time about four to five hours apart at seven months. She has cereal and fruit for breakfast, a jarred food or pastina for lunch and either a jar or purred whatever we have for dinner. She gets puffs and bread for snacks.

Based off of your DD's intake, DS doesn't eat much... He doesn't cry for more food and does bowel movements just about after every solid feeding. I can tell he has gained weight and definitely grown. But I'm still a little worried now. Chat Icon

don't be worried if your ped isn't worried!Chat Icon

i should have mentioned DD doesn't always finish her actual food--sometimes it's half a jar. it depends on when she last had formula. she has formula at about 7am, 11, 3 and 7pm. sometimes a little more, sometimes a little less.

it sounds like your DS is doing fine for himself. have you been to the ped lately?

one thing i have learned with 2 babies--don't compare them to others. every baby is different. i know my baby is eating way more solid foods than some others, but it works for her. she wants what her brother is eating.

and clearly i meant pureed food although purred food might be good as wellChat Icon Chat Icon

DD ate the same amount of food at that time. She is EBF so I don't know how many ounces she gets, but she nursed 5-6 times a day at that point.

I'm glad his eating schedule is normal. I really was worried. :( When did you increase the amount your DC eats and how did you know to give more?

My son had about the same amout of formula. It's fine. And as long as he isn't losing weight he is getting enough to eat. I questioned it also. caus emy nephew who is 9 days younger then DS has 8 oz every 4 hours. and my son only had 4oz every 4-5 hours. every child is different.

Same thing with me.. My cousin's son eats 7 oz 5 times a day of formula and he eats solids three times a day!
