Budget Votes tomorrow....
Curiosity poll for the "school-aged" moms. Anonymous for obvious reasons.
I'm still not sure which way I'm voting! It really just stinks all around.

Unless it's really over the top I'll never vote no. Our budget was voted down a few years ago and the Board made no changes to anything people were objecting to, instead punished the kids by cutting ALL clubs and teams across the board from elementary school up. It was a nightmare, the community ended up raising over $600k before the school year started to re-instate them all.
Already for next year they've cut the golf team and I hear that one of the elementary librarians is retiring and they aren't replacing her. The plan is for the other 2 to cover all 3 elementary schools. Not happy about that.

If you happened to read Newsday yesterday, our district was one of the Catch 22 districts who if you vote no twice your taxes will go up even more because the contingency is more expensive than the budget

I was looking at that also how the contingency seemed higher then the budget, but I was confused by the post card that came in the mail. I am really so sick of my taxes going up every single year. I just don't get it. Where the heck is all of the money going?

I'm absolutely voting yes. I actually feel badly because even with the budget the SD is making some cuts.

Totally unsure. My kids are not in the public schools, so I pay school taxes on top of tuition. However, my kids use all the resources, and I wouldn't want to see that cut. Ultimately, I will probably vote yes.

I was pretty pleased with how my district kept the tax levy under 3% I think it's reasonable.
