An extra Census tidbit....PSA
Just wanted to pass the following info along.
Some of us may have received a census form back in January, that was required, by law, to be returned by February 1st.
I did and thought that this was the census itself and that for some reason I was just receiving it early.
I was concerned when I got my census earlier this week and it took me quite a few phone calls to find out what the issue was.
The one that I had received in January was the American Community Survey. Both this survey and the 2010 census are required to be sent back.
Only some households receive a American Community Survey so most of you probably didnt get one.
The American Community Survey is longer and more involved than the Census and is only sent out to 3 million households (or something like that)...

10 years ago I received the longer census forms. This time I received the smaller version. I got it yesterday and sent it back today.

I just got another census too.. i don't know what happened to the 1st one  I think its lost in a pile of junk mail somewhere

Its really important that people mail them back right away, for every house that does not mail it back it costs tax payers approx. $90!

I'll do it when I get to it.
I don't have time to drop everything and fill out a form.
I barely have time to eat dinner these days..
They could give us some more time - they act like it's such a rush.
Send it out earlier then.
What if it got delayed in the mail?

Wow.
Honestly, it took me less than 5 minutes to fill it out -- probably more like 2. Not a big deal at all (and I'm pretty farking busy these days).

I don't have mine yet.
I have to check the recycling bag, but I think DH just emptied it on Tuesday.

I got the American Community Survey as well, filled it out and sent it back. Then about 2 weeks later got the census itself and after watching the news last night thought I had been the victim of a scam on the first one I got! But it was legit. I was so relieved.

Exactly.....
So did I.....
It took me forever to track down the information. I called the number on the census package and the woman that I spoke to had know idea what I was talking about...
Hence my post...
