Whole milk causing constipation for 1 yr old..?
DD's been constipated, to a point that she would cry. I give her pears and lots of water/juice each day, doesn't seem to be helping much - so I finally realized that milk is the culprit.
has anyone's toddler experience this? I've only heard of diarrhea issues related to milk, but I guess every baby is different...

yes, we had to switch to 2%, then 1% and that helped.

Yes. My DD got extremely constipated when we switched. Very badly, even bleed when going to the bathroom from pushing. My ped doesn't want me to switch off the whole milk though, so in addition to trying to increase her fiber (15 mths now) we have had to use various things to help her go to the bathroom without straining.

What in the whole milk that's causing the constipation??
You would have to ask your ped. My ped did not want me to switch at all, in her opinion she felt whole milk was best for us. The dairy is just binding to some kids or people.
