we have a new family member on the farm!!!
as most of you know we have a small flock of pet chickens, we also have a three year old bunny and a nine year old mixed breed dog named Jack.
DH decided that since Jack is getting older we should introduce a puppy into the family.
So on Saturday we adopted ZOEY,
she a 10 week old Collie Mix
These pics were taken as soon as we brought her home, I need to take more.

Adorable! Now you have a border collie to herd your flock!  That should be interesting to watch as she gets older, how much of a herding instinct she has. She is so cute, congratulations. 
Poor Jack. Is he getting any rest whatsoever?

she is so smart, she already knows her name, how to sit and she's 80% trained for the wee-wee pads.
Jack is starting to like her, she loves to pull rope toys so Jack is teaching her how to play. He's being very patient with her, at first he was very annoyed.
We are crate training her and we keep her seperated from Jack sometimes so he doesn't get mad at her.
She has TONS of energy, she runs around the house so fast, its so funny. she wakes up about 3 times a night crying, usually she has to pee, but sometimes she just wants to play. I feel like I have a newborn LOL! I'm not working my regular job this week so I've been sleeping downstairs in the guestroom so I don't wake Rich up when I get up with her.
I'm already letting her cry it out, and boy is she determined.
So far she has only looked at the chickens, we haven't put her on the ground outside yet. My biggest concern is that she will try to hurt them, so as soon as we can we are going to introduce her to them and teach her to protect them like Jack does.
We took both dogs to the vet on Tuesday, Zoey weighs 6 lbs.
I'm hoping she doesn't weigh more than 45lbs when she's grown. Jack weighs 42lbs.
When the weather gets nicer I will take some new pictures of the chickens and tell you some of the funny stories about them from this winter.

Thanks for the update! I'm very happy for her, that she found such great, caring parents.
Hopefully Jack will help you along with the training and show her how to act around the chickens and bunny. We taught Brinkley a lot but there were things that we could never teach him that other dogs could!
