Question about being dialated...
How do they know how dialated you are? I though internals were just a manual thing.. is there a tool used? Do they use the speculum?

They use their fingers....but at my obgyn's office they have this white plastic molded thing with rings on it to show you how dialated you are.

They use their fingers. If you can put one finger in through your cervix you're about 1cm, 2 fingers = 2cm. It's very subjective since people's hand size vary. Once no more cervix can be felt at all you are 10cm dilated.
