I think my baby has a clogged tear duct...

I have been wiping it with a wet warm cotton ball like the peditrician said to do, did this happen to anyone else, and how long does it take to get better..

Alyson has this problem! Her eyes were SO gooey in the beginning....slowly got better. Also, massage the area too, not just wipe.

She hasn't had gooey eyes in 2-3 days now--just some normal eye sleepies. It's TOTALLY normal!

This happened to my friend's baby. When the baby had a cold, she used the buggie sucker and it actually cleared up her eye. It was weird, don't know if it is considence or not.

Totally normal - Alex has it in her left eye. Try to massage the duct area a little everyday and it should start to get better. If not, your doctor can prescribe drops that will help eliminate the goo

Katie still has it in both eyes. Ped said it is normal.

James also had this...just make sure that you are whipping the eye from the inside out...not the other way around.

my son had this, massage the inside of the eyeduct near the top of the nose, with a cotton ball or your pinky finger. it cleared up within a week of doing that. and use a little pressure, not too hard, not too soft. it really works

My son had this also and we just massaged the area a few times a day. Then one day around 15 weeks it cleared up.

My daughter had clogged ducts in both eyes, she was almost 3 months by the time it completely cleared, all you can do is keep up the warm compresses and massaging from the eye down the nose

I know this is going to sound insane, but if you're breastfeeding, try putting a drop of breastmilk into the baby's eye. I've heard this is a natural miracle fix!

My son had a blocked tear when was born. What helps is wiping the eyes with a warm cotton ball from in to out. It also helps to message by the outer nose bridge. Trust me, it does go away!!

WOW! So funny you posted this! Ryan has this. I just took him to the Dr Monday for it and she gave me drops and was told to massage it if it didn't get better. I didn't fill the drops because of issues with my prescription plan but it seems to be getting better.

Yes I did what all these wonderful mommies said to do and it seemed to have cleared up, so if it is not so bad you may not need to fill the drops..
