how did you all get your house/apartments? did u go through agents or ads in papers

We found our apartment in the paper and our house through word of mouth.

We found our apt. online on the pennysaver & then our house on MLSLI. We did so much research & basically then told the agent THIS is what we want to see & they'd schedule the appts.

hey gail...when we got our apartment in brooklyn we used craigs list. for our house i contacted a realtor for a house i saw on MLS. but that house already had an accepted offer. but the broker won be over so i ended up going with her to look for other houses. she's amazing!! let me know if you want her number.

I used an agent.
I also used Natefind when looking for homes to buy in Manhattan. I'm pretty sure they compile listings in Brooklyn too.

to rent- I would NOT pay an agent - esp in NYC they get 1.5 months rent
to buy- I would def use an agent

our agent found our house.
we also looked in the papers, mlsli, and other real estate companies' websites.

Word of mouth and I love my apartment!
It's Colony Park in Ronkonkoma. Part of the heatherwood communities. They have several properties through out long island.
