Looking for a cheap Easter idea for 2 year old boy twins

For Easter we are seeing DH's mom's husband's son's twins (Phew, that's mouthful). They are very particular in what they eat, so candy is out. We aren't close with them, but feel we should bring them something.

DH was thinking about getting two Easter baskets and putting some books in them. How does this sound? Any other thoughts? We aren't looking to spend too much. TIA!!!

How about getting coloring books and crayons as well? I'm sure you can get them at a 99cent store...

My mom would put stuff like silly putty, play doh, little matchbox cars for my brothers, yo-yo's or slinky etc..plus she would include a rolled up bill of some kind ($5 for a bad year, maybe $20 for a good, lol).

any cute little knick knacks like that kids LOVE. How old are they??

99cent stores have books, Walgreens has sidewalk chalk on sale for $1. I just saw a bunch of stuff in the Walgreen's circular.

2 years old. Is that too young for coloring books? I'm clueless.

That sounds good. coloring books & crayons are also a great idea. Wooden puzzles, bubbles, little cars. You can also do a sand bucket & shovel.

If they don't like candy, how about putting some other snack in those plastic eggs? Like cheerios or gold fish?

We aren't sure what they are allowed to eat. They are VERY particular. We only see them once a year, so we're trying to stay away from food items.

No.. 2 is not too young at all.. my son is a coloring ADDICT!!

Maybe get them each one of those Crayola color wonder sets from toys r us (or target.. walmart.. whatever).. it has special markers and paper that the markers only show up on.. so no mess

I'm sure the parents would appreciate that Chat Icon expecially if they are fussy parents.. and they're pretty cheap.. plus I feel like it's a little nicer than just a coloring book and crayons

Re: Looking for a cheap Easter idea for 2 year old boy twins

how much do you want to spend on each?
I saw some big ready-made character baskets at party city that were 50% off....I know my 2 yo would LOVE these!
or try going to target or kmart-they also have the ready made baskets
For my friend's kids I bought a pail&shovel at the dollar store and put a bathing suit and flip flops from target/children's place along wuth a couple of water toys I spent about $20-$25 a basket.

Shovels and pails for the beach are always a good idea.

What about Play-doh? Or ANY of the Color-Wonder stuff.
