Re: Questions for those with recent BFPs to help us TTCers!

1. What method did you use to TTC? (temping, OPKs, etc.)

I temped and used OPK's

2. What was your BD schedule? (e.g., every other day until positive OPK; nothing, then every day once positive OPK, etc.)

We BD'd every day for 5 days, got positive on 3rd day.

3. At how many dpo did you test? (including both BFNs and BFP might be helpful!)

Not really sure, I was sick right before ovulation so my temps were out of wack. Fertility friend never pinpointed ovulation. I THINK I ovulated around CD 15 and got my BFP on CD 29, which my best guess was 15DPO.

4. Anything else that might have contributed? (prenatals, barilla plus, etc.)

I didn't eat or take anything special. I did put a pillow under me after BD'ing each time for about 15 minutes.

GOOD LUCK TO ALL OF YOU! IT WILL HAPPEN!!! Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Questions for those with recent BFPs to help us TTCers!

1. What method did you use to TTC? (temping, OPKs, etc.)

CBE digital OPK's & tracked my cycles for a year on mymonthlycycles.com

2. What was your BD schedule? (e.g., every other day until positive OPK; nothing, then every day once positive OPK, etc.)

We only BD'd 3 times bc I was letting TTC control my life and I decided it was time to take a break from obsessing. We BD'd CD 12, 13 and 16. I got the Chat Icon on CD13.

3. At how many dpo did you test? (including both BFNs and BFP might be helpful!)

Tested on 13DPO with FRER and got a strong second line (not with FMU!) then took a digital that night and Pregnant came up almost immediately.

4. Anything else that might have contributed? (prenatals, barilla plus, etc.)

I've been taking prenatals since we started TTC. I also used preseed only one of the times we BD'd so I don't know if that was "the one" Other than that NOTHING - just relaxed and tried to preoccupy myself Chat Icon

Re: Questions for those with recent BFPs to help us TTCers!

1. What method did you use to TTC? (temping, OPKs, etc.)

Just keep a look-out for EWCM and monitored my cycles

2. What was your BD schedule? (e.g., every other day until positive OPK; nothing, then every day once positive OPK, etc.)

We BD'd on the day I saw EWCM and the following 3 days too

3. At how many dpo did you test? (including both BFNs and BFP might be helpful!)

Tested on 8 DPO and got a BFN. Tested again at 11 DPO and got a BFP!

4. Anything else that might have contributed? (prenatals, barilla plus, etc.)

I started taking prenatals 5 months before we started TTC and kept taking them throughout the time we were TTC. Got into a regular work out routine, lost weight, focused on eating super healthy. Basically, I took really good care of myself. I switched from regular pasta to barilla plus and started cutting back caffeine - went down to half caf and started drinking decaf tea. I tried the raspberry leaf tea but didn't drink it more than a handful of times.

Good luck to you all!!Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Questions for those with recent BFPs to help us TTCers!

A couple questions that might help those of us who are still TTC!

1. What method did you use to TTC? OPKs (not digital) and watching for EWCM

2. What was your BD schedule? got a positive on my opk on cd25 & cd26 BD those 2 nights and that was it. I mean we BD other times but on no schedule. But only specifically on those 2 days on CD27 i had another positive OPK in the am but by pm it was negetive so I knew we did it on the 2 most fertile days.

3. At how many dpo did you test?
I know I have a 12day luteal phase so I tested on 11dpo with a fait line and on cd12 with a "positive"

4. Anything else that might have contributed? I was taking prenatals but thats it!

Good luck to you! The biggest thing I think is to not stress out! Lots of Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Questions for those with recent BFPs to help us TTCers!

1. What method did you use to TTC? (temping, OPKs, etc.)

Used the digital OPK's and kind of knew what days I was expecting to be fertile from the calendar on babymed.com

2. What was your BD schedule? (e.g., every other day until positive OPK; nothing, then every day once positive OPK, etc.)

We BD'd CD 12-17 & 19

3. At how many dpo did you test? (including both BFNs and BFP might be helpful!)

11 or 12 DPO and got a positive on both a FRER and a digital

4. Anything else that might have contributed? (prenatals, barilla plus, etc.)

I don't think there was anything imparticular that we did this cycle that helped to get our BFP. I just tried to relax (keyword tried!). We did also bd at night during that time, so while I didn't put my legs up in the air, I also wasn't up walking around and stuff.

Best of luck to you all!!!!!! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Questions for those with recent BFPs to help us TTCers!

1. What method did you use to TTC? (temping, OPKs, etc.)

I temped every morning at 6:30 am, and kept track on Fertility Friend.com. I monitored CM, and used First Response OPK.

2. What was your BD schedule? (e.g., every other day until positive OPK; nothing, then every day once positive OPK, etc.)

We BD on CD 9, 12. Got positive OPK on CD 14 and CD 15, and continued with BD on CD 14, 15, 16 (2x).
Fertility Friend said I O'd on CD 16.

3. At how many dpo did you test? (including both BFNs and BFP might be helpful!)

Had cramps early, and skin broke out around 5-6 DPO. Tested with FRER at 8 DPO, and got a faint BFP. Tested with Clear BLue Easy digital on CD9 and got BFP!

4. Anything else that might have contributed? (prenatals, barilla plus, etc.)

I used pre-seed a few times, don't know if that had much to do with it, as my CM was not a problem. But, what I do think helped, was propping my hips on a pillow after BD, for about 10-15 mins. I also will say that temping worked wonders - you get to know your body so well, and will def see if you ovulate or not.

Good luck to everyone! Chat Icon

Re: Questions for those with recent BFPs to help us TTCers!

1. What method did you use to TTC? (temping, OPKs, etc.)
OPKs.. kinda.. i never really got a strong reading off of them, I kinda just "knew" my body and that I was Oing. I also observerved my EWCM. I TTC for 4 months and starting the second month I started a calendar with every little twinge/pang I felt every day, esp during the TWW, this helped me from going a little nutty misinterpreting things in later months.

2. What was your BD schedule? (e.g., every other day until positive OPK; nothing, then every day once positive OPK, etc.)
Every day from CD8-18

3. At how many dpo did you test? (including both BFNs and BFP might be helpful!)
13 - Xmas day... I refused to do it before 14DPO but I figured I would cheat that month to see if I was getting an Xmas gift!

4. Anything else that might have contributed? (prenatals, barilla plus, etc.) Preseed and Mucinex for sure. I'm convinced my EWCM was lacking and wish I started these two on month #1.

For the record, prenatal vitamins DO NOT help you get pregnant.

We are an active couple Chat Icon .. Probably everyother day.. Sometimes everyday..

4. Anything else that might have contributed?
I wanted to go off BC a year before actively trying. I've been on prenatals since September 2009. We eat lots and lots of pasta in my home. Also, actively (not planning) Chat Icon helps....

Re: Questions for those with recent BFPs to help us TTCers!

1. What method did you use to TTC? (temping, OPKs, etc.)

Mostly OPK - and checking for EWCM - did a little looking at the cervic but gave up on that kind of soon. .

2. What was your BD schedule?

day before I though I would get OPK positive - then three days in a row after OPK positive - off one day then one more day

3. At how many dpo did you test?
I think it was 12 DPO. .

4. Anything else that might have contributed?

Prenatals
Infertility Acupuncuturist 1-2 times a week plus herbs from the acupuncturist for all different parts of cycle.
also chiropracter- which I go to in general but when I told them I was TTC they did all this extra stuff to free up the uterus. .
Then this might be TMI but after Chat Icon we did hips elevated and then rolling to each side and stomach for 5-10 minutes, staying in bed at least an hour each time. The rolling was advice from friend who is ob-gyn who said bc cervixes can be in all different positions that if they are off to the side at all this helps 'coat' the cervix - of course disclaimer on any valiidity to any of this advice but it's just what we did. .
Chat Icon to all!

Re: Questions for those with recent BFPs to help us TTCers!

1. What method did you use to TTC? (temping, OPKs, etc.)

This was my second month on clomid. I was Oing on my own but my progesterone was low so my GYN wanted to try this. I also was given a trigger shot when they felt my follie was mature. I decided to stop temping and using OPKs and just go with what the doc was telling me this month.

2. What was your BD schedule?

I got my trigger on CD16 (late afternoon) so I believe I O'd LATE on CD17 or VERY EARLY CD18. We BD'd 15, 16, and 17 at night.

3. At how many dpo did you test?

I really didn't want to see another negative so I waited until 17dpo to test and got very quick/dark positives on a digi and a frer.

4. Anything else that might have contributed?

We tried preseed again this month, I put my legs in the air each time, and the night of CD17 when I knew I was likely going to O...I didn't get up at all...just went straight to sleep.

I HATE that everyone that knew has told me to relax and it will happen but whether it mattered or not this month, I stopped driving myself crazy and tried not to be as obsessed...so who knows.

Good luck to all of you!! Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Questions for those with recent BFPs to help us TTCers!

1. What method did you use to TTC? (temping, OPKs, etc.)
What helped the best was the iPhone app from Fertility Friend. I was able to enter prior cycle info and keep track as we went...it even gave me an idea of the range of dates I would be most fertile. I am not organized enough to keep track of everything like temping and that. It was great to be able to just look at this real quick whenever/wherever I am and have an idea where we are.

2. What was your BD schedule? (e.g., every other day until positive OPK; nothing, then every day once positive OPK, etc.)
It was all over the place. The last 2 cycles we went with practically every other day....maybe more when I had 'green days' on the iPhone app

3. At how many dpo did you test? (including both BFNs and BFP might be helpful!)
In the beginning, at about 10 DPO I would start...Then I got to the point where I would only test if AF was late...I was probably about 20DPO this time when I tested

4. Anything else that might have contributed? (prenatals, barilla plus, etc.)
Got a dog Chat Icon Chat Icon We were more relaxed this month I guess!

Re: Questions for those with recent BFPs to help us TTCers!

First off, congrats to all those with recent BFPs! Wishing you a very happy and healthy 9 months!

A couple questions that might help those of us who are still TTC!

1. What method did you use to TTC? (temping, OPKs, etc.) OPK's and CBEFM

2. What was your BD schedule? (e.g., every other day until positive OPK; nothing, then every day once positive OPK, etc.) When we were at CD16 we started, every day, stopped one night at CD20, got peak fertility CD21, BD once to twice a day til peak dropped

3. At how many dpo did you test? (including both BFNs and BFP might be helpful!) Honestly, once on 4 days po, though i knew it would c ome back neg, then today! 14 DPO

4. Anything else that might have contributed? (prenatals, barilla plus, etc.)
Prenatals always are good, but no i took them on and off for months, not everyday like i was supposed to

Thanks to anyone who takes the time to do this

Re: Questions for those with recent BFPs to help us TTCers!

Just realized I never did this.

1. What method did you use to TTC? (temping, OPKs, etc.)

I used OPKs.

2. What was your BD schedule? (e.g., every other day until positive OPK; nothing, then every day once positive OPK, etc.)

We BD'd every other day starting around days 8-10. Then once I got my positive OPK, we'd BD three days in a row (though the month we conceived, we missed that 3rd day). I was a late O'er. The month I conceived, I O'd on CD 21 or 22.

3. At how many dpo did you test? (including both BFNs and BFP might be helpful!)

I tested at 9 dpo with a digital. Not sure what I was thinking, especially because I wasn't one to test early. It was negative. I then held out until I was officially late. I got a positive on 13dpo (late for me since I had a short LP).

4. Anything else that might have contributed? (prenatals, barilla plus, etc.)

Oh definitely. I had a short LP (with a late O) since going off of BCP. After a few months of not ovulating at all, my LP was at 9 days. It started to gradually lengthen, but I never got it past 11 days. Blood tests showed my progesterone was plummeting at the end. My dr said we could try clomid to strengthen the egg (which will then produce more progesterone) or I could wait to see if it corrected itself (he suspected it was from years of BCP). I waited, but took matters into my own hands by reading up on LPDs and looking into natural treatments.

I started taking vitex, drinking red raspberry leaf tea, and taking royal jelly in capsule form. I also ate very clean, switched from coffee to green tea, and cut back on intense exercise (eastern medicine believes intense exercise can adversely affect progesterone levels). I started doing more yoga and making time for massages, too. Within 2 months, I got my BFP (after almost 9 months of trying!).

I highly recommend the book Making Babies: A Proven Three Month Program for Maximum Fertility by Dr. Sami S. David and Jill Blakeway (an RE and a eastern practitioner) for anyone interested in natural remedies. I liked it better than The Fertility Cure.

Good luck to all of you! I hope this helps.

Re: Questions for those with recent BFPs to help us TTCers!

A couple questions that might help those of us who are still TTC!

1. What method did you use to TTC? (temping, OPKs, etc.)

I was temping and using OPKs and also checking my CM

2. What was your BD schedule? (e.g., every other day until positive OPK; nothing, then every day once positive OPK, etc.)

My cycles were long and I only had one cycle of confirmed Oing previous to the one I got my BFP so I wasn't sure of when I was going to ovulate. We would try to BD 2-3x a week throughout the cycle and then once I got my Chat Icon (using FMU with CBE digitals) we BDed that afternoon, the next afternoon and the following morning. Then skipped a day and BDed again. Fertilityfriend never confirmed O because of temperature fluctuations due to using the air conditioner at night. However, I believe that I Oed 2 days after my + OPK, on CD36, based on my previous cycle.

3. At how many dpo did you test? (including both BFNs and BFP might be helpful!)

All were done with FMU - I tested on 9DPO with a dollar tree test and got a BFN. I tested on 10 DPO with a FRER and got a light but clear BFP. Tested on 11 DPO with a dollar tree test and got a BFN and then tested with the same urine with a FRER and got a BFP. Tested one last time at 13 DPO and got a DARK BFP - almost as dark as the control line.

4. Anything else that might have contributed? (prenatals, barilla plus, etc.)

I used preseed, stayed in bed for a least 20 minutes after BDing and put my feet up on the wall. I also drank grapefruit juice and green tea to increase my CM because I had very little.

Good luck to all of you!

Re: Questions for those with recent BFPs to help us TTCers!

1. What method did you use to TTC?
We used the CBE Digital OPK's and started seeing an RE but got PG before the RE had the chance to start me on any meds

2. What was your BD schedule?
This month we took it easy since we were supposed to start meds the following month. So we Chat Icon two times before Chat Icon and then we actually didn't Chat Icon the day we got the Chat Icon but we did the next 3 days and on two of those days we did it twice in one day. I O'd on July 4th and I remember saying to my DH wouldn't it be great if we made a 4th of July Baby!

3. At how many dpo did you test?
I tested at 13DPO which was one day after AF was due and got my BFP.

4. Anything else that might have contributed? We never used anything other than OPKs and Chat Icon

Re: Questions for those with recent BFPs to help us TTCers!

1. What method did you use to TTC?
Nothing. I wanted to take the more carefree approach to TTC. I used my fertility friend to estimate my O date since my cycles were always pretty regular.

2. What was your BD schedule?
We Chat Icon a couple days before O, the day of and the day after O.

3. At how many dpo did you test? 13DPO got a BFP!! Tested again the following day to confirm (when AF was due) and got a BFP.

4. Anything else that might have contributed? I was completely stress free during TTC. I didn't drive myself crazy with OPK's or temping. I just had fun with it and was very relaxed.

Good luck to all!!!!
