ditto, but it's becoming less frequent now a days. i used to smoke full time for a few years back in HS/early college, than i quit and than picked it up again when i drank.

My FIL died of lung cancer. My husband used to smoke and has been free for 4 years! I am so proud of him.

Stopped cold turkey August 7, 2004. I think I've had three cigarettes since then - two at my 20 year HS reunion.

I quit when I was going to have a baby, but I have slowly gone back. I don't smoke a ton, but enough to be considered a smoker. I really have to quit again.

I quit cold turkey 5.5 years ago. I smoked for about 9 years. Best thing I did was quit, worst thing I did was starting to begin with .

While I actually don't remember the date of my last cigarette, I was a smoker for many years and really miss it - it was always about it being such a "habit" and not necessity. But as much as I have been having cravings I have not given in and hopefully I won't!

I quit on Jan 12, mainly b/c I was TTC. I still miss it sometimes but now that I'm pg I'll never ever go back. Plus I really like not stinking like smoke. It was really really hard though. Even harder since most of my friends still smoke.
I worked with a women a few years ago who had quit smoking over 20 years ago, and she would tell me that she missed it (and craved it) every single day!
