Ave's run east-west / St's run north-south in NYC?
DH always tells me but I constantly forget He will kill me if I have to ask him again.

No, it's the opposite! Avenues run north/south and streets run east/west

It's the opposite. Streets run east/west (i.e., 65th Street will intersect 2nd Ave (east side) and 9th Ave (west side).
Avenues run north/south.
