The mcStay family that went missing 3 years ago
Has anyone followed this? They were the family of 4 that abruptly went missing 3 years ago from California? Someone who has been independently investigating wrote a book, and it is so interesting!

Is that the family that possibly fled to Mexico? I think I saw something about them on E. They say sightings of a family that resembled them on separate occasions.

Yeah, I saw this on E too. I remember them having some grainy footage of a family of 4 that appeared to be crossing over the Mexican border.

Yes I read half the book last night! Troubled marriage, troubled family life, such a strange story. How do 4 people just go up and missing? Very interesting. And now that this book has come out, the FBI has taken over.

I remember this story. I think I first saw it on the show Disappeared on the ID channel. This is one of those stories where I just don't know what to think. If they did flee to Mexico, I'm surprised it's been 3 years and there are no leads? And the family has never heard from them? Such a crazy story.

That's where I saw it too, on Disappeared. I really wonder what happened to them & hope they're ok wherever they are.

I remember this story. So weird because they had just bought a house, were renovating it and left like $100K in the bank. They also left their dogs without food or anything and apparently that was unlike them. I hope they are OK but I really do wonder what happened. The wife seemed a little suspect to me.

They were last seen or heard from on 2/4 and yet it took the family 10 days to go to their home?

I think they ran! I think she was going to be prosecuted along with her other co workers over that mortgage remodification business, and there was a CPS issue with the older son, and threats. I think they up and ran.

I too was obsessed with this story. yesterday I got a cnn alert they found this missing family and it made me think of them, but it wasnt'...but my head totally thought of them....such an odd story....fascinating..

I don't remember this story, but find it bizarrely fascinating.
As a mom, I can't imagine just up and leaving like that. Especially to Mexico. I was there when I was younger and it was a scary place to me.
I don't know enough about the case to even theorize what happened to this family. If it wasn't foul play, maybe some kind of witness protection thing?

I can't even comprehend how you up and go with 2 kids! I can't even get out in a timely fashion with my 2 year old to go anywhere!
