Some pics from my twins Candyland 1st Birthday Party
We had our twins Candyland themed 1st birthday party this weekend at Bourbon Street Restaurant in Bayside. I cannot say enough great things about the place.We did a brunch and everything was delicious. They refilled the trays of food several times so everyone could have seconds or thirds if they wanted to. They were all so helpful and I have absolutely no complaints about or experience there.
For the party I made all the decorations, centerpieces, cake and the favors which were cupcakes and the candy buffet. The was a minor cake-tastrophe the evening before when my mother offered to deliver the cake to the restaurant so I wouldnt have to worry about it the next day and then sent me a picture that evening that made me cry. Somewhere during travel to the restaurant the cake somehow shifted so the day of the party I had to fix the cake which meant removing all decorations and re-doing the whole thing right before the party started. I greeted my guests with my hands covered in icing but in the end it all turned out ok. I dont have any great pics of my twins together but we all had a ton of fun. Heres some pics from the day:

Thanks everyone. The centerpieces were so easy to make. I bought dowels from Michaels and my DH attached them to a 6x6 wood square he cut out of leftover wood he had. I covered it in ribbon to make it look pretty. The lollipop sticks are wrapping paper tubes I wrapped in white electrical tape (my Dh is an electrician so we always have that stuff lying around) but you could also just paint the tubes white or buy white duct tape. The lollipop itself is just regular latex balloons I got from the dollar store and I covered them in clear cellophane which I also got at the dollar store. The tubes from the cellophane were what I used to make the sticks so nothing was wasted. It was such and easy project!

Yup, bought plastic plates in different colors from the dollar store, wrapped them in cellophane and there you have giant candies. Thanks!
