My DD shows interest and tells me when she has to poop (sometimes). I put her on the potty then and she goes. Sometimes I'll just put her on in when I take off her diaper or before her bath and she'll pee. DS hates the potty and yells "off" as soon as I put him on.
I would try just sitting them on it one or two times a day to get them used to it.

One DD tells me when she has to go - she goes over to the door and bangs on it, or just says "poop" - she used to say it after now she is saying it before. The other, so far hasn't shown much interest - I put her on and she hangs out.
I will soon buy a little potty b/c the other night I was in the bathroom with one for about 5 minutes while the other one was still finishing dinner.
