Would you go? Swine flu related..

OK, I don't know why I am thinking about this but I am.

We live in NJ... so far our state has no confirmed cases of the swine flu. We are supposed to go to Long Island this Sunday for a Communion of a friend's daughter. I know that Queens and LI have had some confirmed cases of it.

Normally I wouldn't be concerned, but I am starting to since we are going to be with a large group of people and I am pregnant.


So my question is, would you go or stay home?

I was going to the grocery store today and my mom (a nurse) doesn't want me to go I thought that was a bit of overkill. But, my aunt was involved in a cdc conference call and they warned her about public places like that. I think I will just make a list and get in and get out.

Ugh...all this swine flu stuff has me questioning everywhere I go too. The thing is, we still have to live our lives. I don't have anything major coming up, but I do have my daughter's field trip next week at the beach that I am chaperoning. I am definitely still going. How many people are going to be at the party?

i'd go too, just dont touch your face or anything if you havent washed your hands. maybe buy that little anitbaceterial gel and have it in your purse, use it if you cant wash your hands

I would go. Just be extra cautious. Wash your hands every chance you get, or even better, bring some hand sanitizer with you. Try to remember not to touch anywhere near your face. Just avoid most people if you can.

i live on LI...just be careful what you touch and wash your hands! You'll be fine!

Id go because it's a communion with family and friends.

I was supposed to go to Dave and Busters in Westbury Friday night.. I will NOT be going to that. It's public with people from all over going there and its a place where you touch everything...but a friend or family party should be fine.

I definately would go. Like others have said, just make sure you wash your hands frequently. Remember you have to feel comfortable with your decision though

I have my mom flying in from OOS this weekend & I am not one bit nervous of her carrying anything into my house from the plane.

this flu thing is being so overblown by the media. they love nothing more than to harp on things and scare the crap out of pple.

40,000 pple die of the regular flu every year. 40,000!

the only place i wouldnt be going is mexico. other than that, wash your hands regularly and carry alcohol wipes with you in case you cant wash.

Thanks ladies... I think DH is making me paranoid! I am supposed to go into NYC next Tuesday for work and he doesn't want me to go... and if I do go he wants me to drive and not take the train. He's making me crazy!!!!
