I believe it does help for gas issues, which can sort of go hand in hand with Colic..
We had some success with gripe water when Niko was younger; but he also had reflux and colic and gas issues combined into one cranky baby  I'm not sure sometimes what really 'worked' for him ; it was probably a combination of the gripe water/mylicon/alimentum/zantac ...

my son LIVED on gripe water his 1st 4 months of his life... we used it for gas & slight colic...

we used it for gas/upset tummy for the first few months of her life...only thing that settled her stomach for awhile! I tried not to use it too often though..

Used it all the time for gas but also seemed to work miracles when DS got the hiccups.
