not to single you out (because other people have posted that they "don't see the point") but this is such a condescending thing to say.
no one HAS to have wine while pregnant. but if you've spoken with your OB and are aware of the risks (or lack thereof, as it may be) there is nothing wrong with having the occasional glass of wine. i'm allowed to enjoy that as much as other people are allowed to enjoy sushi, cold cuts, and tuna in moderation.
everyone is absolutely entitled to their opinion. and i completely respect someone who says they are not at all comfortable taking even a sip of any kind of alcohol while pregnant. but i would never say to them "i don't get why you don't just have a drink."
ITA! My Dr said it was totally fine. So if I want it why not. Plenty of people "have to have raw fish" and I don't get that, but to each his own. And to be honest I don't know what risk there is in an occassional glass of wine. I don't think my baby is going to get fetal alcohol syndrome from a few glasses of wine. And with my history I have learned that if something is going to go wrong its not going to be from a little alcohol or a bologna sandwich.
 To mama and LB. An occasional glass of wine, or beer is not a risk. Drinking constantly, and heavily is taking a risk. I take a much bigger risk everyday I get into my car then I do with having some wine every once in a while.

I drank one glass of wine per month while I was pregnant. So, in total, 9 glasses throughout my pregnancy. And my DS came out perfectly fine
A few glasses of wine is not going to give your baby FAS. In Europe, women drink wine weekly while pregnant. Speak with your doctor first, but most OB's will tell you an occasional drink is fine!

I haven't had anything! I really want a glass of wine, but I'm holding out till I have DD. Then I will have one glass and pump and dump. A nice cold beer sounds good too!

I have about a half a glass every week on Friday. I also take a VERY long time (I'm talking at LEAST an hour) to drink it because I want it just for the taste so I take baby sips.
I've been having really bad BH contractions since like 12 weeks, so my dr. advised me to try drinking water, and if in an hour I get just ONE, then to have a small glass of wine.

I don't think a little bit here and there is a big deal. Binge drinking and getting wasted is probably not a good idea.
