Whomever called it a "fun run"...

... is totally wrong! Chat Icon
I'm starting to do 5k runs on my treadmill during lunch. I haven't run this far at one time since High School.
I can't run all 3.1 miles consistently yet, but I run the first two miles in 15 minutes, then the last 1.1 miles in varying speeds. Yesterday, I finished in 24:45.

This thread is mainly for me to track my times. I'd like to be able to do all 5k at 8mph, or 7.5 minutes per mile, which would be about 23 minutes or so for the full 3.1 miles.

23:54.... I think I'm going to stick around the 24 minute mark for a while... at least until I'm not quite so winded when I'm done...

Two miles in 15 minutes? Wow, that's some pace!
What does that work out to? 7+ mph? lol

I set the treadmill to 8mph. I haven't run on a "real" surface yet, so I'm not exactly sure how I'll do outside. My goal isn't to enter a bunch of races. I just want to get in shape and lose weight, so the treadmill is convenient. Chat Icon

My current objectives is to run the full 3.1 miles at 8mph, and then increase the incline to 1% until I can do that easily. I'm not sure what the goals are after that. I'll probably just stay at that level, and work on weight lifting. That's what I really enjoy doing, but I want to get my endurance up and weight down first.
