Which stroller did you register for?
Hi Ladies,
I was just wondering what stroller you registered for. We want one that the infant seat is able to snap into but I'm so confused as to which one to register for. I have the Baby Bargains book but for some reason it is making me even more confused lol.
TIA, Jillian

Re: Which stroller did you register for?
The part of the Baby Bargains book that helped me make my decision was when it said what kind of mom are you? Suburban or urban?
If you drive a lot then snap and go and city mini or maclaren were recommended.
If you are a ccity mama Uppa Baby was recommended. CHeck out that section it cleared things up for me

Re: Which stroller did you register for?
I did a lot of research on strollers, I wanted a travel system as well, some people say they are too heavy, but from what I read they fit my needs more than the other strollers out there. So, I registered for the Chicco Cortina 30 travel system in Fuego, it's supposed to be the most light weight out of the travel systems, and had a lot of nice features like handle bars that extend, cup holders etc... Re: Which stroller did you register for?
we are an urban family and will probably not have a car. We are getting the UppaBaby Vista. You CAN use it with a graco, peg perego or chicco infant seat although we plan to use the seat and bassinet it comes with 99.999% of the time

Re: Which stroller did you register for?
We are suburban and registered for the city mini...we also registered for the snap and go and the attachment for the city mini, but might end up using the snap and go until the baby is ready for the stroller on its own...the attachment and the snap and go are the same price and people really swear by the snap and go...sorry if that was more confusing...

We also registered for the City Mini. I am tiny and the City Mini is so light! My friend was just telling me about the snap and go and how much she loved it - so now I am thinking about adding that as well.

Re: Which stroller did you register for?
We are going to the register for the City Select and the Snap and Go. As for a lightweight it's still up in the air, we might go with the City Mini or a Maclaren.

Re: Which stroller did you register for?
We are in between urban and suburban. Our town is very walkable and we pretty much do all our errands walking around and we only have one car which we primarily use on the weekends to get to my parents. We got the Uppa Baby Vista. Wanted the option of using it with the infant seat and the bassinet.

Chicco Cortina Travel System in Discovery
The infant seat is the lightest of any that I picked up and it has great ratings. I went to BRU three different times to test strollers out and this one seemed the easiest to maneuver. It also folds and opens easily.

ditto. i consider this our neighborhood / walking stroller. we are also going to use the bassinet for the baby to sleep in at night.
we also registered for the city mini with the infant seat adaptor as a more lightweight, subway stroller that we may also keep in the car.

Re: Which stroller did you register for?
just wanted to share as a BTDT, I use my Maclaren umbrella stroller more than anything else. DS is 20 mos old and we still use it 80-90% of the time. I'm a full time working mom and we are in Suffolk cty and drive everywhere.
I bought a slightly used jeep liberty all terrain 3-wheel stroller (graco infant seat clips in without an attachment) on CL for $40. We use it for outings like the boardwalk, the zoo, anything that isn't paved, etc.
I also have the maclaren quest sport (purchased new for my shower) that we use for all shopping, any time we go into an office, dr appt, the city, etc. The maclaren is in my car all the time because it folds up to nothing and I think it's about 11 lbs. I keep a toddler bundleme on it all winter so I never even have to worry about DS kicking a blanket off or being warm enough. The stroller folds right up with the bundleme on it. I've used the rain cover that came with it and that was great too (we were in the city and while it wasn't raining, it was cold and windy and I didn't want the wind whipping around DS.) I find it super easy to maneuver 1-handed in stores and on the street/sidewalk.
DS is comfortable in both strollers and has no problem falling asleep in either.
I considered the city mini when DS was 8 mos old - he absolutely hated that he can't sit totally upright in it. Even when it's all the way upright, it's still on a recline and he kept pulling to sit up so he could see everything! While it steers smoothly and easily, due to it's size, it wasn't the easiest to navigate around buybuybaby. And honestly, I found it a little heavy to be called a lightweight stroller. I love that it has a huge sunshade and reclines totally flat though.
DS2 is due when DS1 is just about 2 yrs old - I plan on using a snap and go if i'm just out with DS2 by myself or if I'm going somewhere that DS1 can walk. If I'm out with DH with both babies, I'll use the maclaren twin traveller I bought very gently used on CL. It comes with headrests, foot muffs, a hanging parent organizer and rain cover. DS1 was out of the infant carrier by 4mos (i had abdominal surgery and couldn't carry it) and in the maclaren stroller as early as 3 weeks with no issues.
I hate that strollers are so expensive, because it really is trial and error to find the best one that works for you!

Re: Which stroller did you register for?
We are getting the Baby Jogger City Select:
and the Baby Jogger City Mini:
City Select for long day trips, walks around the neighborhood and to stores. City Mini is going to be our 'lightweight' stroller.
We debated a lot between the Uppa Baby Vista and the City Select, but DH liked the City Select a lot more.

Re: Which stroller did you register for?
I WAS going to register for the double snap and go and double city mini. Then I test drove the Donkey (double bug) and I feel in LOVE. Only thing holding me back is its HUGE when folded up and I really would need a light weight too.
