When will this all end???!!!
when are we allowed to go back to normal, with not having to wear masks, restaurants can be fully opened, movie theaters, sports, schools etc?
What needs to be achieved? How does this end?
Why are these questions so hard to answer? To me there has to be something they are looking for to say ok its all good we can go back to living our normal daily lives. The answer of, they dont know should not be acceptable at this point. they have to be looking for something!!
I asked the governors office and the response was generic and gave no answer.
Herd immunity? In the conference today they said they dont know if thats effective and how long people are really immune to it. So seems like thats not the answer.
Are they hoping its going to go away on its own?
Is it the vaccine (which I asked when i send the message to the governors office) ?
I think if they were actually clear on what needs to happen to say ok we can go back to normal; people would probably more willing to cooperate and be less resistant on listening to what rules are being in place.

I don't have an answer, but today the Governor said that an outbreak in other parts of the country, is an outbreak here. So there would at least need to be decreased transmission of the virus in the rest of the country. It only takes one case of someone not wearing the mask and spreading the virus to a large number of people at a large gathering to start more community spread. I think we need to continue being vigilant for the time being.

People need to listen to scientists and wear masks and continue socially distancing.
This could have been much more controlled and we could have been resuming life starting now, but too many resisted and listened to politicians and not researchers.

I would assume, that to completely go back to the way things were before - there would need to be an effective vaccine that has been proven to last. I think they had hoped that the antibodies would be a key factor, but since some people are able to get it again, that's not a given anymore.

I don't think anyone really knows the answer to your question. Some people who are positive for the virus are negative for antibodies, and vice versa. Some people are getting the virus twice. I don't think herd immunity will be achieved. A vaccine could be much further in the future, and some people will not want it because it wasn't tested enough. I think theres a chance this won't go away and will become more like influenza, which happens every year in different strains.

Most of the country is a sea of red representing CoVid cases simply because the administration has convinced many people that science isn’t real, news is fake, masks are just a form of control, and Fauci and researchers are the enemy of the people.
It’s too late.

I guess you haven't been paying attention to the news much. The message is pretty clear to me. Stay away from large crowds, minimize get together and wear a freaking mask until this dies down.
People don't want to hear that so they ignore all the warnings and now we are left with this. You have been warned and told what needs to be done.

Regardless, wear a mask, socially distance, and start believing scientists.

No i am not a trump supporter. To assume i dont no listen to what we are being told to do is just plain rude to put it nicely!
So everyone listens and it will just go away on its own? but yet people here say that's not what going to happen it will still be here
is it a vaccine then come out and just say that if that is the answer!!

I’ve seen 14 days of no new cases in your country as a standard. That’s obviously not happening anytime soon in the US.

There is no answer. We are learning how to treat this. The death rate is astronomically lower and it’s no longer a death sentence. It NEEDS to end soon.
Honestly, if we tested like this during flu season you would be amazed at the amount of positive cases there would be. Flu kills children and we don’t shut down like this, I just don’t get why we are dragging this out and mentally scarring children. We have made leaps and bounds in our knowledge of this virus yet we have no answer as to what criteria will put an end to this way of “living”.

I think that's the problem, you are looking to go back to normal and I don't think we are. Maybe waayyyyy in the future, but honestly I don't see that happening anytime soon. We have never had a vaccine for a corona virus. Flu vaccines are rarely effective. People as a whole don't want to listen to science and social distance and wear masks because they are selfish. I think the best we can hope for is that as years pass the strain lessons and people won't develop all these long term problems, with the heart, lungs, liver etc that they are beginning to see. Also if this world is still in existence another 50 years I'd be shocked. But who knows??

Granted it sucks because you are right it wont happen any time soon but at least this some kind of answer!
Granted maybe there are other answers but this is the type I feel that scientist, officials who ever is making these calls should have and communicate out to everyone!!
ETA: again if there is somewhere I should be looking please tell me where cause when i google it I am not finding it (and its probably cause I am not asking google the correct way!!)

I agree! I’m in MA and our governor says no normal until there’s a vaccine or effective therapy. Not sure what “effective” means exactly lol... but at least he’s trying to give us an idea of what it will take to get back to normal, and I think people appreciate that, whether they agree with it or not.

My answer is that it’s not going to be over. There’s been no comprehensive plan or response and we are flying blind. Now we just hang on and hope for the best.

To answer you, this will end. But not anytime soon. They are hoping a vaccine will come in another 10-18 months. But a vaccine might not work, enough people might not take it if we do have it.
We need to get down to zero people infected. That's how it works. The spread needs to be squashed.
Bahamas was covid free, they let in infected americans. They had to block us now from coming there and shut down their country again until they can protect their own citizens.
This clearly should have been done here MONTHS AGO. January not April....
so until people follow the rules and stop flocking places without masks, this could possibly end.

There is no answer and she is just being rude to you. Until Coumo feels he has gotten enough attention will he say we can go back to normal.
Positive cases should not determine many things. If they are hospitalizations and deaths then yes there is more of a concern.
