I started stage 2 around 6.5 months. Alex was never a big eater. If he was I might have started him sooner. At 8 months old he drinks 22oz of formula, 3 jars of stage 2 food and about 8tbsps of cereal a day.

LOL if Alex isn't a big eater, than my DD is wasting away!

She is 8 months and we haven't started stage 2 yet -- I can barely get her to finish one jar a day of stage 1.

My ped said stage 2 comes as soon as the baby has tried all the stage 1 foods and is eating them well. Its not age-determined, just when the baby is ready for something new.

I did exactlly that.. and Jillians topped eating them at 11 onths...the only thing she may have eaten was the apples and chicken...

My ped said the same. Alex had tried all the stage 1 foods so we moved onto stage 2. I was only feeding him half a jar in the morning, half in the afternoon and half in the evening. She said that wasn't enough and he should be eating a whole jar of stage 2 at each feeding. So I bumped him up. It has been hard because now he barely finishes a 6oz bottle at each feeding. I try to use the rest for the cereal but he doesn't always finish it.

After I went thru all stage 1 fruits and veggies, I moved on to stage 2 (by then DS was able to eat larger quantities as well). He was about 5-5.5 months. I started stage 2 meta mixtures at 6 months.
