When did your baby's eyes change color (if they did)?

Right now Sienna's eyes are a dark blue-ish color and i'm assuming they won't stay that way since DH and I (and most of our family - with the exception of a few people) have brown eyes.

I'm getting all different answers on when the eye color will stay what it is (6 months, up to a year, 18 months, etc)... so I just wanted to ask you guys when did your DC's eyes change color? Or did they stay the same from birth?

Here's a pic of what they look like now:

Noah went from blue to green around 1 year. Robbie's are still blue.. but have gotten some green cast to them since last year. Mine changed from blue to greenish blue during puberty.

My nephew had blue eyes - and just went brown at the beginning of the summer (16 months old).

My DD's eyes were a dark blue when she was born, and now they seem to have gotten a little bit lighter actually.
My Ped said she thinks they'll most likely end up green/hazel cause that's what her Dad has... but really there is no way of knowing.
I've heard of kids eyes changing all throughout early childhood. I guess we just have to wait and see.

DH and I as well as most of our family have brown eyes. DS had grayish eyes as a newborn. After a few months, they started to look more hazel. He's 8.5 months old now. His eyes still look hazel.

I am curious too. I have brown eyes & DH has sky blue. My DD was born with the typical gray/blue. By 2 months they had completely changed over to dark brown. DS is almost 5 months & his eyes have darkened a little since birth, but they are still a shade of blue. They are looking hazelish to me. Everyone keeps saying that he will stay hazel. We will see I guess.

My DD was born with slate-blue eyes 2 years ago. They're still a dark blue (maybe a touch lighter) and have some green in them now.

But our entire families have blue eyes (except my mom, who has brown). DH has light blue, I have green/hazel.

DD was born with dark dark blue eyes now at 8 months they have become almost a see through blue with a tinge of green right in the middle which are similar to my eyes. This happened progressively over the past 8 months....

I have brown/DH has blue

Ayla's were dark blue at birth and only got lighter.

Amelia's were dark blue until 8 months -ish and turned light brown. She is now 17 months and they are bown hazel. There is still "color" in her eye when she wears certain colors.

I have hazel green eyes and my DH has blue eyes. My DD will be a year old in just a few weeks and her eyes are still the same beautiful blue since birth. It would be nice if they stayed that way......I guess only time will tell. Chat Icon

I was told at the hospital that at 6 weeks their eyes are their premanent color. DD's eyes were dark blue when she was born and they have been getting lighter and lighter. She is 4 weeks now.

DD's eye keep getting lighter and she is 16 months. They also change color with the day or what she is wearing. They are always a shade of blue or gray.

Re: When did your baby's eyes change color (if they did)?

Ryan was born with grayish blue (on the darker side) and changed to brown I want to say within 1 month. Have been brown ever since.

Although I come from a family of light eyes (I have green myself) DH has ALL brown genetics. Brown is more dominant, so I was not surprised with Ryan.

Re: When did your baby's eyes change color (if they did)?

DS was born with the same color as your DD. I have brown eyes and my DH has blue. DS is just about to turn 6 months and his eyes are more hazel right now. They look brown in certain light and green in other light. DH mother and brother have green eyes, so maybe they are going to stay the shade they are.
They stayed blue until he was about 6 weeks and then started to get darker. My sister said that usually what ever eye color they have at 6 months is what color they will have.

If they stay blue they will start to get lighter and lighter within the next month or so. Most likely she will have brown since most of your family has brown eyes. You never know though. My sister and BIL have brown eyes and all three of their kids have blue.
