When did you/will you stop using your baby monitor?
Just curious. I saw this question on another board and I was surprised by some of the answers.

uummm when she gets married???
No really, I haven't even thought about that. She is 21 months old now and I use it every nap/night with no plan to stop in the near future.

When did you/will you stop using your baby monitor?
I stopped using it when DS was 18 months. He is now 20 months and his bedroom is right next to ours. Both doors are open all night so we would hear him if he cried out for us.

Ok so I don't feel so bad now. The majority of the people who answered stopped using it when their LO was between 6 months to a year. I had planned on using ours for at least another year (ds is 10months). I guess I just wanted to see what others thought and if I was being excessively overprotective!

My DD is 4y3m and I still use it every night.  (I just have an audio monitor, no video)

When did you/will you stop using your baby monitor?
We sleep with our doors closed so I still use the monitor and DS is 27 months. I honestly have no idea when I will stop using it. Besides the pp situation with being able to hear because their doors are open, I can't think of any reason why I would stop.

My girls are almost 3(will be in a few weeks) and 21m and I still use the monitor, but only at night. When they nap I'm usually In the living room right under their room so I can hear them.
Idk when I'll stop using it at night though. I might once all our bedrooms are on the same floor (hopefully in the next year or so)

DS is almost 2 1/2 and we still use it every night and don't plan on stopping anytime soon.
We even travel with it so if DS is sleeping, DH and I can still hang out on the balcony (If there is one) and not worry.

I think it really depends on how your house is. My kids share a room next to mine and I stopped using the camera when ds1 was like 12 months and then never even used it with ds2. If someone is crying I hear it just fine with my ears.

DD #1 is 31 months old and I still use it for naps and bedtime. I love the comfort and sense of security to just "check in" on her whenever I want to. I do not see discontinuing use any time soon.
I also use it with DD #2 who is 7 months for naps and bedtime

That is a good point! In my case our rooms are close to each other but I need to sleep with white noise as I cant sleep if I hear my upstairs neighbor walking around at 3am like she loves to do. So I feel the monitor is a necessity for me so I can be certain I would hear him if he cried. Maybe if I didnt have to drown out the lady who seems to wear stilletos 24/7, it'd be a different story!

Depends on how your home and rooms are situated. We used it with our DD's until somewhere between a year/year and a half. And only used it when I was on the other side of the house or outside on the porch.
