I completely agree!!!!!!
ETA- You can continue to BF past a year, and stop pumping. You've been BFing long enough that your body will adjust-- if that's what you choose to do. Just start weaning your body from the pump and transition your DC to whole milk when you away from him/her.

i only nurse her at night and in the morning i offer it when she wakes up otherwise she gets pumped milk. When she was teething she started not wanting to nurse as much during the day so i just went to all bottles during the day and it was easier when i was out. So you think i would be able to nurse in the morning and at night? or jsut at night without a problem? i normally nurse her around 6 if shell take it..on one side. pump around 830-9am then again around 9pm

Re: when did you stop BF?
congrats you have done a great job!
I stopped at 3.5 months because I was pumping only. I got sick, DS got an eye infection so I stopped.

Re: when did you stop BF?
I stopped at 8.5 months. I stopped pumping and tried to just nurse when I was home, but she seemed to struggle getting enough, since she's underweight to begin with, I felt better knowing that she was getting a full bottle at every feeding... My original goal was 3 months, then 6 months - then just figured I'd take it one week at a time...
Congrats on making it as long as you did!

Re: when did you stop BF?
I stopped at 13 months mainly because I was pregnant, but it had been winding down and DD was losing interest. That pregnancy didn't stick but in hind site the timing was right for us anyway.

That's exactly when I stopped with DD. She had started to refuse the breast at 7 months and I exclusively pumped for the next 4.5 months---after that, I just couldn't do it anymore. I felt really good with what I had accomplished at that point though. You should feel wonderful that you have given DD all that you can!

Re: when did you stop BF?
I think you need to stop when you and she are ready for it to be over. Remember stopping is a slow process, not an overnight thing. So once you decide to stop it can still take a few weeks to lower your milk supply and wean your baby. It was a real double edge sword when I finally stopped. I had pumped for 1 year and there was some sense of accomplishment, relief, sadness and desire to continue. It tells you that your baby is growing up and that is always hard to know.

It's certainly worth a try. Here is an article from kellymom.com that explains it-
Partial Weaning
I think that you have a better chance of this working since you've already been BFing for almost a year. (My DS BFs more than twice a day-- but I've seen a lot of posts by women who BF past 1 yr that have DC BFing 1 or 2 times a day.)

Re: when did you stop BF?
DD#1 - 26 months (by force, I was pregnant and she wasn't losing interest)
DD#2 - 12.5 months (and she couldn't care less)
How attached is she to nursing? My first was a total BFing junkie. My second didn't care as long as she was fed some way.
