When did you retire the bathtub that goes in the sink?

DD is just about 7 months (but on the big size 29 inch and 20 lbs) and I still have her in the blue plastic tub in the sink. Chat Icon

I think she's getting a little big for itChat Icon She has no room to play, soaks me and the kitchen and she knows how to turn the faucet on and off, which always makes it funChat Icon

I'm really nervous about the bathtub though. She sits great, but gets lazy, what if she throws herself back? and I'm thinking this going to be hard on my back.

Thoughts? Suggestions?

I put Gillian straight up in the bathtub. They also have bath rings or the slings you can use in the bath. I would get her out of the sink regardless of what you use. I think its good to know the bathtub at 7 months.

no, not really. Thats why I suggested a ring or sling for you in case that worries you.

I was going to ask the same thing!! I was just thinking about this today. Lily still fits in her tub. I use it in the bathroom though. I was just reading something that said it's a good idea to put the baby tub in the big tub for a few days to "transition." Then I was thinking I would get one of those seats that goes in the tub. Something like this:

She either showers with one of us in her bumbo seat(I know you are NOT supposed to) or she uses her bath cushion that she used in the sink as a newborn. I forget what its called. It helps keep her head up out of the water.

I started with the big tub at 8 months. Andrew is really small for his age.

I now have the blow up tub that fits in the tub. It works greatChat Icon

Jules is still in her blue bathrub in side the regular tub-she is 2. Our tub is huge and takes forever to fill. We will be retiring it when number 2 comes. On occasions I do shower her though in the shower stall with me.

We have a similar one from One Step Ahead and it's great! We transitioned at about a year because I had a very deep baby tub.

I was going to ask the same thing! Jacob is getting way too big for his tub. DH has been taking a bath with him in the regular tub...that way he can hold him

I either use the duck inflatable tub that I got at Target or just bath her in the sink. It is easiest in the sink. She sits up, can't really go anyqhere and you don't have to bend over.

I have this...and I put the bath seat in the tub. I started about 8 months...although DD is still little, the mess and the splashing in the sink was more work to clean up...even if I didn't have to bend down Chat Icon

I retired it around 9 months. I've been bathing her in the kitchen sink ever since and she'll be 2 in Sept! I didn't want to get involved bending over the big tub while I was pregnant, but now that I'm not anymore, we'll be going in the regular tub this summer.

Same here, the blow up tub worked out great! We used it from about 8 - 18 months.

I started using the regular tub around 10 months...he LOVES it. He gets to splash around and kick his legs. We have a lot of fun with it.

we started using the regular tub when Aly was about 9 mths old. She is tall and the blue tub was just getting ridiculous - her feet were practically hanging out of there! She loves the big tub. plenty of room for her to splash and play. The sink want working because she'd soak my kitchen flooor and counters.

DD is only 2 months old - but we use the safer bather from BRU. We'll move it from the sink to the tub when she gets bigger.

I bought this, but I don't really like it. It's hard for me to move around her to wash her.
I just put a pad on the bath tub and wash her in there.

we lived in an rental house that had these terrible shower doors, so Bella was in that tub until we moves when she was 15 months!!!

and she was fine...a little snug at the end, but worked for us Chat Icon
