Your DS sounds exactly like how my DS was. I didn't know what to do. All he did was scream, from the moment he opened his eyes at 5 am until my DH came home and would drive him around until he fell asleep. The car was my savior, he slept in the car, nowhere else. I was living in Nashville at the time, and I once almost drove to Memphis just for the quiet. I had horrible PPD, no family and 1 friend in Nashville (my DH was getting his MBA). Unfortunately with my DS he really didn't stop crying all the time and being super high maintenance until he was a year, BUT once he started to smile and engage it made the crying more bearable.

Now DS is 2 and the light of my life. He is joy. He is still stubborn, still has a temper, but I wouldn't trade him for the world. It will get better, I promise you. Make sure you and your DH get out of the house without DS. Don't worry about leaving him with a friend or family member for a little while you go for dinner or get a mani/pedi. That time will help you cope, and when all else fails, try the car! Chat Icon

My DS was a crier... though he would do it in the afternoons... for HOURS at a time. It felt like he cried his whole babyhood. I'd look at other people's babies and be really jealous.

Went to the ped: asked about food allergies, blood in poop, the whole enchilada. Stopped dairy from advice of people...

My ped told me to restart my milk/dairy eating.

She said it is COLIC. (Sidenote: she's a 72 yr old seasoned ped)

I asked from what? Should I give gripe water, switch formula that I was using to supplement? etc. etc. etc. She said it's just colic and it'll go away. She said to hang in there & get some relief pitchers to share in the SCREAMING that can drive you INSANE.

I would carry my DS all the time. It helped... or maybe had ME feeling better. I stopped doing everything else except caring for my baby. My legs grew hair, my laundry pile grew, my house was filthy.

My ped was right. It went away.

Yours will too.

A bit late on this, but I see someone posted something about a Chiropractor...I totally agree with this, I took my son to a cranial osteopath a few times and I don't know if it helped us, but I have friends who swore their unhappy babies had changed after one session. I hope you are feeling better today!

may sound crazy, but i would run my vacuum cleaner and my son would stop crying. Also, standing in front of running water.

My son cried so much it was heartbreaking...it does get better, hang in there.

First, I am so sorry you are going through this. Chat Icon It is the worst feeling in the world when your child is screaming and you dont know what to do. My daughter, up until 3 months, had this about 1 time per day. My #1 go to strategy was the vacuum!!!! I also coupled that with putting her in the bjorn and vacuuming. It was magic everytime. House was clean, baby was happy and would usually fall asleep. She is still hypnotized by the vacuum. It DOES get BETTER!!! I promise. Chat Icon Chat Icon

What about trying the Moby Wrap and just keeping him strapped to you all the time? I know it wouldn't be a break but it may provide comfort to him in general and therefore some comfort for you.Chat Icon

I was going to suggest the same thing...DD found it extremely comforting to be in the moby wrap.

Have you tried co-sleeping? I'm not a big advocate or anything but it can be done safely and may help (I didn't read entire thread so idk if that's been suggested).
