Re: What response would you expect from holiday gift to ped

For a doctors office I probably wouldn't expect a thank you. My mom works in a doctors office and they get SOOOOOOOOO many gifts baskets, gifts, and treats sent to the office in December I can't really even fathom them having the time to send a thank you to every patient, medical rep, fellow dr, etc who sends something. KWIM?

Generally I believe in sending thank yous but this time of year to expect a busy dr office to send a thank you for every gift they receive might be a lot. I'm sure they received it and loved it.

Also, it's quite possible that if they do thank yous they may wait until after the holidays and then send thank yous out all at once instead of as they receive something.

I honestly think it depends. If it is a big practice maybe nothing, which I don't think is right but anyway, or maybe a thank you at the next visit.

If it's a smaller private office I would expect at least something to say they got it. Our ped is her own practice in her own building so when she got our gift basket her staff called RIGHT AWAY to say thank you. Again it is a very small practice though and we have an awesome relationship with our ped! She goes above and beyond and we love her and her staff to pieces! We were going to send it to her home since we have taken the kids there for emergencies( yes she is that cool) but we wanted the staff to share in it.

I would call to make sure they got it. I don't see anything wrong with that :)

I have always sent gifts to my peds office, or vets office. I never recieve a thank you. I never would really expect one from a drs office, they are too busy IMO.
