What do you think of this spelling for boys name....
If we have a  his name will be Aidan Michael but we were thinking of spelling Michael.....Micheal which is the Irish spelling (the other way is hebrew). We thought it would be different but I can't help thinking that people are going to think we spelled our sons name wrong....I've never seen it the other way.....what do you think?

Sorry, but I think your son will have everyone spelling it Michael, not Micheal...it looks like you made a mistake in typing it.

I love when people spell common names differently, but that way is so close! I had a student in my class last year named Mikal pronounced Michael. I thought that was unique.

I agree. My DH names is Michael Id leave it like that.

i say you do whatever YOU anf DH like better, it won't be his first name, so it won't be such an issue, I prefer diiferent spellings.

A kid from HS spelled his name Majikal or something like that, but it was pronounced Michael.

I can't tell you for me as an adult now it's annoying to have to constantly correct people with the spelling of my name. I am sad to say that I can see my DD is going to have the same problem. We spelled her name in the Spanish spelling with one L and people are spelling it the Italian way with 2 LL's it bothers me. I wanted to 2 LL's but DH like the L so now the little bugger will be stuck like me. If it's a first name I agree with the others I would spell it the common way. If it's the middle then go for the Irish way

it's a matter of your own choice....I'm in the same boat. I have a unique name (Shana) and I've had issues with it all my life (whether it be spelling or pronouncing). DH has a middle name with a different spelling too (Fredric instead of Frederick).
We picked a more "normal" name but we are choosing to spell it uniquely...Alyson.
I like making names more unique because it adds individuality, but with a name lke Michael, it might be hard since everyone is used to the traditional way. Of course, as he gets older:
What's your name?"
"Micheal, spelled the Irish way"
We do it with our address....we live on Rebekah drive (most people spell Rebecca, so we say Rebekah, the biblical way)

I forgot it was the middle name, I think it is less of an issue since you dont write your middle name as often.
In that case, I think you should do whatever makes you happy.
