What do you claim tax wise for payroll

The other post is making me nervous. DH and I are getting close to the next bracket and i would really hate to ever have to owe and i like getting a nice chunk back (we got over $8000 back this year). I know i am giving the government a free loan but me and DH aren't great savers so if its in my paycheck it will be gone. So for this reason we both claim single 0 and we have two kids. I also take extra money out a pay check for state cause for some reason i use to always owe state no matter how much a i made and what job i had (i am talking part time work in HS always claimed single 0 and still owed state most of the time)
Is there still a chance i will ever owe at the end of the year?
I never want to have to owe.
People that owe are you guys claiming single 0 and still owing money at the end?

Re: What do you claim tax wise for payroll

I have to claim married 0 on both federal and state.
Since DH retired we are getting hit hard for some reason.
We had to pay the last 2 years.
I just switched both so HOPEFULLY we won't be hit so hard next year at the end of the year.
Ugh

Re: What do you claim tax wise for payroll

I claim single 0. We are getting back like a grand this year which I think is the most we have gotten in several years.

We always owe because DH is self-employed.

DH and I both claim married 0. Until this year we used to get between $2-3k back. This year our combined salaries put us in a higher tax bracket and we wound up owing. Our accountant now has us sending additional tax payments every three months for 2014 taxes, so we won't owe.
Long story short use one of the calculators because everyone's situation is different.

Married 0 for dh and single 0 for me, 2 kids. We get a refund, but not $8000. That's awesome!

married 0, 1 kid... we get a refund each year. I think it has to do with the mortgage interest?
