What color to paint hutch? *updated w/pic*
So my husbands aunt gave us her old hutch and i want to paint it.
My dining room has all black furniture. I kind of wanted to break away from that. My kitchen and dining room are open. My kitchen is white cabinets, white subway tile and grayish granite countertop.
But i'm terrible at interior design. So any advice is appreciated.
What color should i paint this hutch?
(I might also get a small sideboard table for the other wall on the other side of the room to balance it out if i do pick grey or something other than black).

I think that hutch is beautiful!
No matter what you do to it it will be a knockout
That being said i think I would do white
I’m not good at this stuff either but I feel like if it’s close to your kitchen it should match the kitchen

If your table was brown I would have said navy. But it is nice as is. I would paint your table navy.

I wouldn't paint it at all. I'm a big proponent of keeping wood looking like wood.
If you must paint it, I think I'd do white though.

I'd recommend sanding and then restaining it to a color that you like. I would also change out the knobs.

What color to paint hutch?
I would paint the inside white/off white and do a color on the outside. Not navy with a black table. A grey would be ok, or maybe a sage green, or deep red/wine color?

I gotta ask- what’s on top of the hutch? Because it Looks like storm trooper helmets lol
My kids are big into Star Wars these days and they have the LEGO versions- so many of them - and I have no place to put them lol
So they’re on the dining room side board
The curio cabinet in the kitchen
The living room coffee table
The tv room shelves

Yes they are legit Storm troopers helmets. My husband is part of a Star Wars Garison that does events, fundraisers and parties in exchange for a St. Judes donation and costumes need to be approved. So my husband added a top shelf on the hutch to put them up there.

See you have your kids stuff all over and I have my husbands all over.  I mean I have the kids stuff too but also the big kid.

Your hutch came out beautiful I want to refinish mine. What kind of pain and color did you use? Mine has a but of a glossy finish would I have to sand it down?

Thank you. It is Benjamin Moore Advance Waterborne Interior satin white.
