Weaning from swaddle

My DD is 14 weeks and we swaddle her at night in the miracle blanket she sleeps 11 hours which is great however I think it's time for her to be weaned. We also keep a rolled up towel under her crib sheet so she feels cradled. How do you go about weaning? She does not nap swaddled just at night.

Re: Weaning from swaddle

I kept the swaddle for a LONG LONG time, but when we wanted to stop it, we moved to a sleep sack. It was an easier transition that way.

ETA_ she was swaddled until 6 months old- never had an issue with it. It was teh only way she'd sleep and I wasn't going to mess with that!

I kept the swaddle for as long as possible. I only stopped when he started to break out of the swaddle to roll over onto his stomach. We just went cold turkey one night and he transitioned fine!

Re: Weaning from swaddle

We did it cold turkey at 3 months.. my pediatrician told us to.
Switched to sleep sacks and he never had any issues!
Good Luck!

Weaning from swaddle

I kept my DD swaddled until she started breaking free which was almost 5 months old. When I did stop swaddling, I did it cold turkey.

I was so worried that she was going to give us a hard time but she actually slept better that first night without the swaddle.

I kept DD swaddled until she was able to roll from her back to tummy.
Then I weaned her by letting one arm out, then two arms out and then just wrapped under her chest. then we switched to sleep sacks.
good luck
