We really dont know what to do...
a followup post from last week...we really are unsure of what to do-whether to move or not.
im scared bc weve never lived anywhere else but our town-im scared of not getting a job there and being bored...
im scared HIS job wont work out and then we'll struggle....help!!!! :(

yes, i think we could def come back n rebuilt. my family would def help us out (as far as us staying w/them for a while until we got our own apt again, and stuff like that!)
THAT would be no problem.

 remember when i was freaking about applying for a job in (gasp) the CITY! LOL so i am the worst with this stuff. . .
speaking honestly - i wouldnt be able to do it. but you are not ME and I am strange so you only know what YOU can handle in life. . .and what the two of you can handle together. . .

so why worry so much?
you like it there. it's an opportunity. if it works out, GREAT...if not, you can come home. no great loss...but more importantly, NO REGRET for not going.
it's better to have tried and failed, than not try at all.
give yourselves a time frame...6 months, a year.
be honest with yourselves about how you REALLY spend your time...are you home watching tv most nights, are you out at posh lounges, or sitting at the local bar?
and match your home search accordingly.
be smart about your choices, and you'll give yourself a better shot.
there is no time like the present.

maybe don't think of it as being so "big"
you are "only" moving a few hours away. still on the East Coast, near family, to an area that you enjoy.
there will be a certain change, sure, but you don't have to learn a new language (ok, southern is hard for me to understand sometimes...but it's still "english" isn't it ) you still know the food, the drink...hell, there isn't even a time difference!!!!!!
I will say that you are speaking to a woman that would give her eye tooth to move to Europe...I would go in an instant...so I am a bit willy nilly when it comes to things like this...places I like and "adventures"
but having back up makes a HUGE difference.
just take the plunge!! how cold can the water really be?!?!

not yet, hes meeting w/the guy again tomorrow and hes suposed to tell the NC ppl tomorrow NIGHT if he wants to take the job or not
his thinking? it doesnt matter about the jobs, its the point if we want to move out of NY or not....which is true.

I would be there in a heartbeat; my BFF moved there 5 years ago and I cannot TELL you how happy they are... DH and I even toss the idea around frequently, NY is losing its allure for both of us of late!!
But if you have the safety net here of family and friends, you really have NOTHING to lose, and quite possibly a lot to gain by making the move, you're guaranteed to learn something about yourselves and while there's an adjustment period, it just may be the adventure of a lifetime!!!!
I waffled for a month about a job offer in Asia years ago, in the end I took it but I sat on that plane to Hong Kong like a deer in headlights I'll tell you now that that experience shaped my LIFE in astounding ways!!! I'm glad I didn't miss it; I hope you and DH can decide soon!!!!

You are in a PERFECT position to head out there and try it out. You guys are young, you don't have any children yet...its just you and G. If worst comes to worst you guys move back here, but at least you'll do it knowing that you tried and it didn;t work out. If you don't try this move, I think you'll regret it in the future. I SO would be on my way already!
