We just saw an interesting bunny!!!! (I apologize for my words before)
We happened to be at a small shopping plaza that had an Easter rabbit. I figured I'd take the baby for a picture. As we got up there, I realized the music coming from his radio was rap. Interesting. I like rap, but found it a little odd for an Easter bunny to be playing it. Then as I paid my money and handed the baby off, the bunny said 'Yo!'

I am very sorry for using terms not deemed nice. My intent was not to stir the pot, or be mean. DH is not from an area that is nice and I am not from a nice area. (I am now afraid to use the word ghetto) My intent was not to upset anybody. I am an idiot and am glad you put me in my place. I was just thrown to see an Easter bunny listening to rap and saying 'Yo' to my 7 month old baby.

Not to stir any "hoopla" on this topic. Just making a suggestion that you be mindful when using words such as "ghetto". Your post could be interpreted as you saying that rap music IS ghetto and I am not sure if that is the message you wanted to get across. So just be careful. Again, just my opinion.

Yes but im sure she was just trying to say that usually the easter bunny doesnt listen to rap music....and this one did...i think she meant ghetto as in "not the usualy bunny" and not in the derogatory way

I don't usually get involved but I kind of agree. I know you did not mean any harm, but personally I think that the use of the work ghetto in this situation is wrong. I actually do not like it when people use the word ghetto out of context. When I was a teacher the students would always say this and that is ghetto. I did not like it. I don't know if I am making any sense Maybe it is better to say you saw the hip hop bunny today. Again, I know you did not mean any harm.

I understand everyone's point about the word ghetto but sometimes we just have to admit that a lot of people associate one thing with another, even if not everyone wants them to. As someone who listens to old school rap music, I can tell you that so much of it is about areas that the rappers themselves call the ghetto. The newer rap music does not depart from that, from what I know of it.
