LAst year a mom in DC's class molded heart shaped crayons (one for each kid)/ I've seen the idea on pinterest and it was really cute in real life!

I did this for my son last year. It was fun! But, peeling the crayons was really tough.

I am doing this for my DH kindergarten class. I know someone one etsy who does this . She made me 2 heart crayons and on fron it says Happy Valentines Day for "crayon" out loud.... Your friend, xxxxx. So cute...

Re: Valentine's Day Bags Ideas?

I actually think the ideas posted on here are cute. However, I also think the endless goodie bags of candy and plastic crap for holidays is just overkill. I understand for birthdays but for Christmas my son brought home 20+ bags of candy and junk he wasn't going to eat or play with.

I did goodie bags for his birthday and he signed 25 cards for Christmas for his classmates which I liked because it helped him practice his handwriting. But thats about it for me and if other mothers want to be creative and spend time doing this more power to them. I'm confident in my choice to do the bare minimum.Chat Icon

Eh, my son is 15 and I've been doing creative stuff since he was little. I think it's just easier for most now since you can log onto pinterest like you said and get ideas. I don't think it's a competition at all. I personally enjoy doing creative things. If little Susie's mom sends in valentine cards purchased from the store, who cares? I don't belittle her for doing that.

I don't send anything and DS (1st) never says boo about itChat Icon

If everyone else is passing out Valentine's and he has none to pass out, don't you think that makes him feel a little sad? I would buy a box, and the have him sign them at aftercare or the babysitter's house

We've talked about it. He has no interest, IMO it's the parents doing all this anyway

I can't edit on my iPad. But I wanted to add that my DS teacher doesn't let the kids hand anything out, it goes right in their backpacks by the assistant. Love her. Lol

Re: Valentine's Day Bags Ideas?

My son is handing out those little cards and he wrote his name and the kids name. We attached a valentines day themed pencil on each card.

Since I am the class mom, I am going in to make clay coiled rope hearts. We will let them dry and then I will come in again and we are going to stick magnets on them and paint them red. I got the class cookies. Another mom is going to read a valentine's themed book.

This is how they do it in DS school. My son couldn't care less as well.

I just went to walmart, and for $8.00 I got a box where you make your own kit. Kit includes 24 bags, with tags, stickers, 3 pieces of candy and a pencil for each kid!!!

Ahh. We have an actual v-day party in our classes and the kids hand out their valentine's.
