Anyone own one of these? Are they worth the money?
Trying to help someone with their registry.

I'm pretty sure I'm in the minority but I absolutely hated mine. MIL insisted on getting it for my shower present, which was very generous of her, but I'm pretty sure it was more of a "show-off" present because I didn't ask for it. I find it be be incredibly large and bulky. I drive an SUV and when its folded in the trunk, it literally takes up 85% of my trunk. I will say the large basket underneath is my favorite feature, along with the oversized sunshade. When DD was 1 years old, I couldn't take it anymore and bought a City Mini GT which I like much better, but to be honest DD never has been much a stroller kid and from the minute she started walking, she wanted nothing to do with being strapped into one. The Uppa Baby umbrella stroller, the G-Luxe, is amazing and that's actually my favorite stroller to use. It folds up, has a great shoulder strap, reclines, has a great sun shade, cup-holder attachment, etc. The Vista has multiple configurations if multiple children is in the future for the person you're helping. It's obviously compatible with the UppaBaby Mesa car seat, but again, opening up the frame is cumbersome. I'm jealous of the moms at daycare who just pop open their snap and go's and click their car seats in. I think it would be an ideal stroller system for city living -- i.e. a place that you walk almost everywhere and wouldn't have to deal with the constant opening and closing but here on LI with all the driving, running errands was annoying.

Yeah, I can't disagree with any of that. I never used the stroller a ton and now I really only use it if we're going somewhere that involves a LOT of walking.
If I were using it every day I'm sure I would have hated it.

Re: UPPAbaby stroller
My sister had it. She got it from a friend. She almost left it in the shopping mall parking lot. It was heavy and hard to close. When a piece broke and she had to replace, she bought a new carriage instead..I think a citi mini and it was so much better.

I agree with all the pp. I have a vista and a citi mini. The mini is great. The vista is heavy and barely fits in my trunk!

I have one and it’s a love/hate relationship. I got it as a shower gift and at the time I was living in Astoria so I walked everywhere. When my second child came along my older one used the kickstand while the baby was in the snap n go portion. Loved it also because it was just so easy for the city. Now that we moved to the suburbs it’s been sitting in my garage collecting dust. I only use my umbrella stroller now, and my older DS just walks. I think nowadays there’s better options. 6 years ago it was one of “the best” out there.

I must be in the minority, but I LOVE my UppaBaby. Then again, we went with the Cruz, which is the smaller version, so maybe it's not as bulky? The quality is really good and the storage is phenomenal. I may also have a different "take" because, although we now live in Nassau County, we moved here from Brooklyn and I still don't drive. I walk all the time after work with my little one (over 2 miles regularly) and on the weekends we may cover 5-6 miles. I am very newly pregnant with #2 (fingers crossed its a sticky bean) and I plan on getting the kickstand for it

We have the Cruz-- it's great. tons of basket storage. i dont find closing it difficult or heavy. We also have a 3d-lite stroller which is more like an umbrella stroller but still heavier --- but we tend to use the Cruz. The storage basket was truly key for us and we use it everywhere, parks, mall, etc.
