It's not all cheap furniture. I bought a Lane leather couch from them that other places were charging more than 2x what Bob's was.
But just like all furniture places, you can buy junk. You get what you pay for.
Did you buy the goof proof? I hope they fix it completely. Good luck!

the thing with this set is that it was one of the most expensive sets there, we bought it bc I loved the way it looked. I should have listened to DH when tried to talk me out of it  I should have listened to him, spend a bit more and buy somewhere else, but it was the first set I really , really liked after looking for few weeks.

Im sorry your going through all of this. :( I honestly think any furniture place is hit or miss. For every lets say 50 ppl that have a complaint about one store, theres 50 who have had a good experience. Personally we got our living room, dining room and bedroom set from bobs and have been very pleased. I wouldnt give up hope on them and dont doubt yourself on your purchase.

I agree. While furnishing our first home it worked for us for financial reasons but i'll never buy furniutre from them again. I'm not thrilled with the quality.

I feel your pain. We bought a couch from Jennifer's and hoped that we could get 1-2 years out of it. In a few months it is useless.
I will never set foot in one of those stores again.

Older post but YES they do !!!! Just waited for 3 1/2 hours only to have damaged furniture delivered !!! # large abrasions and 2 holes !!!
Customer service was horrid !!!!

I heard Raymour & Flanigan has a great policy. My co worker had her living room set replaced there a few times no questions asked. She did buy the extended warranty or whatever it is.

Funny cause I have always bought from Jennifer and never had a problem but it just goes to show you they really don't make things like they used too. All the furniture now at days is so disposable which is why quite frankly I refuse to spend money on "mid" range furniture (i.e Bobs, Jennifers, etc).
The only way you can get good quality furniture is if you plunk down some major dough at stores like Ethan Allen or once of those places. Suckss.

DH works with someone who used to work at Bob's and he said that they had a big rat problem in a lot of their recliners!! He had no idea why it was only in the recliners but for some reason a lot of the customers were calling and complaining that they had rats inside their recliners. DH said we will never again purchase something from there lol.
Also, we bought DS a dresser from there a year ago. Last month, DH moved it 3 inches to vacuum around it and the veneer chipped off the front. He said he barely touched the thing.

To be honest, I think most furniture places suck. The only one I have ever had good service from is The Place, who I would defintely use again. As far as the quality, you do get what you pay for. Though I would rather buy Ikea furniture which I think is better than Bob's Furniture for the amount they charge.
You're probably right! Most do! I actually had a HUGE issue with The Place. We ordered something, they said it would be delivered to us in 12 weeks. It took 5 months and even then only part was delivered. Their customer service was HORRIBLE.
The only place I've never had issues with when buying furniture was Drexel Heritage. Awesome quality, early delivery and great customer service.

I've had good and bad experiences with bobs and I agree with the PP that says all furniture stores suck. If you look ANY of them up on BBB, they all have horrible ratings.
I got a couch from Rooms to Go 6 years ago and it still looks brand new. I don't understand why some things are great and some are awful!

same exact thing happened to us!!! a dresser we bought...I was vacuuming and barely hit the thing, and this entire wood piece on the bottom fell off.

Funny that this got bumped because we just got our dining room table from them delivered on the 12th and on the 19th as we were getting ready to have company (and use the full table for the 1st time) I noticed that one of the legs of one of the chairs was completely cracked. We got the extended warranty so DH called and they said that the earliest someone can come is December 10th. Oh and we're hosting 16 people for Thanksgiving tomorrow. 
I should have stuck with my gut and gone with Raymour.
Oh, and the whole set has been discontinued -- we ordered it less than 3 weeks ago!!! Who knows if we'll be able to get a matching chair.

They all suck. I went to Basset and they sent me the wrong table. DH didn't realize it was the wrong height. We have a counter high table and chairs.
The guy from the store came and replaced it which was great but how does that happen?
Couches from Macy's held up well considering the use and the cats..bought an extended warranty (highly recommend this no matter where you go) and they replaced cushions.
Even my bed (2x) had issues..Serta..
Mom and Dad bought from Bob's. Twice they got their new dresser and 2 dressers came damaged. One thing is they righted the wrong and that 3 dresser was perfect and is holding up fine.
The 3rd time the manager said he was going to inspect the dresser before it left the warehouse and that was the 3rd one. Who knows how many dressers were really damaged.
Raymour and Shananigans did a bait and switch on me.
My bedroom set has scratches all over the veneer. That was expensive!! From a little furniture store on Old Country Rd 6 years ago.

They all are awful. Most of the furniture out there to buy is made by the same manufacturers, even at different stores. Found that out from DH working at Sleepy's. We saw beds that they carry (furniture not mattress) in at least 4 different stores being sold under different names with slight changes to finish etc.
You can find great furniture at a decent price, you can buy complete and utter garbage for a high price. Such a crapshoot.

Sorry you had a bad experience. We have a dining room set, bedroom set, and bob-o-pedic from Bobs. There was a knick on one of our dresser drawers when they delivered it and we called and they came the next day and replaced the whole drawer.
We also have the goof proof but never had to use it.
Good luck and hope it all works out!
