UPDATED: I'm IN!!!!!! Bummed about something with NYRR... Any ideas

So I thought i registered to become a member of NYRR last month. I filled out all the stuff and I hit submit. There must have been a computer glitch because when I went to register today for a race, it says I'm not a member. I checked my bank statement and i was never charged the membership fee and I never got a confirmation.

No to automatically get into the 2011 marathon, I had to to be a member by 1/31. I am so upset!!

I'm going to call them and explain today, but is there anything you think I can do???

UPDATE!!! So I called and begged to be let in. THe woman said she couldn't help, but gave me someone elses email and told me to tell her my story. I did! And I got in for the 2011 maratahon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!(If I do 9+1). And I'll run tomorrow which is a double qualifier!!!! Hopefully I'll also get in for 2010, but if not, I'll be a marathoner in 2011!

I would just try to talk to someone on the phone and explain what happened. Maybe you'll get lucky.

Frankly tho, one of the reasons I left the NYRRs is because of how rude some of the people there are. Some of them act like they're doing you a favor and meanwhile it's you, the runner, who is just trying to have some fun and pay their exorbitant fees.

I would still do the 9+1. It's my understanding that when the lottery comes up for next year, you can write a letter explaining the situation to get into the marathon and it's usually successful. A lot of people do this with Bostom as well, which is strictly a qualifying race (with the exception of charity runners)

Are you running the Run for Haiti? It's a 2 race qualifier. I'm thinking about it. I did my 9+1 last year, and was wondering if I should do it this year just to give myself the option for 2011
