New Year's Day baby! Catelynn Lowell and Tyler Baltierra welcomed their second child together on Thursday, Jan. 1. Teen Mom 2 star Kailyn Lowry spilled the beans on Twitter, writing, "Congratulations to my good friends @CatelynnLowell and @TylerBaltierra. cannot wait to meet your new bundle of joy."
Baltierra replied, "Thanks Kail! Can't wait for you to meet her either!"
The couple has not announced an official name, but have been calling their little one "Baby V."
On Jan. 1, Baltierra captioned a throwback Instagram photo holding Carly, writing, "IT'S HAPPENING! Here we go, doing this all over again. This is surreal, I'm freakin out a little lol but can't wait to meet my little angel! Thinking a lot about Carly right now. It's bringing me back. Even though I know this time I will actually be taking her home. I love my girls! #CantWait #Nervous #Excited #Scared #Happy."
Lowell has been ready to meet her baby girl for a while now, tweeting on Sunday, Dec. 28, "38 weeks today now I feel like everyday just drags can't wait to meet our little angel!"
Us broke news back in May that the couple, both 22, were expecting again. Lowell's mom, April Stotts, revealed to Us how the MTV star first found out she was pregnant.
"She called to ask me about a pregnancy test and if I thought she was pregnant. So I made her send me a picture and I told her, 'I believe you are, you should go get a couple more and take a couple more,'" Stotts told Us at the time. "She was crying when she knew for sure and so I was like, 'Are you happy? Are you upset?' And she was like 'I'm happy!'"
Lowell and Baltierra documented the emotional process of placing their first daughter Carly, now 5, for adoption on MTV's 16 and Pregnant in 2009. They called off their wedding in July 2013 after a five-year engagement, but are still together. On Christmas Day, Baltierra presented his longtime love with a new engagement ring.

I think its horrible she gave her first baby up for adoption on national TV for the world see, and someday that adult will watch her biological mom giving her up, yet having another baby out of wedlock in the public eye again and keeping this baby. I guess she did not learn how to use birth control.

I think its horrible she gave her first baby up for adoption on national TV for the world see, and someday that adult will watch her biological mom giving her up, yet having another baby out of wedlock in the public eye again and keeping this baby. I guess she did not learn how to use birth control.
I don't think it's horrible at all. Who the heck wants to be raised by two 16 year olds?!!? She got a loving, stable, married couple instead. Five years is a world of difference when you are talking about a 16 vs. 21/22 year old.

Again, I don't think it's awful at all. I think it is wonderful that they showed the world ( and millions of teenagers watching) that adoption is a great option to a teen pregnancy. They are the only couple that have stayed together through all of the teen moms. That says a lot and I'm sure has opened the eyes of many pregnant teen girls out there. I think Carly is lucky to be able to see how much her birth parents loved her and what a selfless and heartbreaking decision they made in order to give her the life she deserved. I would be proud of them if they were my parents!

I agree.
And they have/had an open adoption with Carly. And I believe still see her and have a great relationship with the adoptive parents.
Carly knows all about her birth parents and her adoption.
As for having another child out of wedlock. Gasp..Oh the horror

I think quite the opposite. I think it was extremely courageous of them to do that on national television considering how hard it was for them. But I think they knew how much of an impact they could have on other teens in the same position. I think when Carly eventually sees it she will only see how much love they had for her and that they only wanted the best for her. It's not like she got pregnant a few months after giving her up.

Ita, it was FIVE years later! You do so much growing up in those 5 years! And as for out of wedlock.... Seriously?!?!?! Is that even an issue? That wasn't why they gave Carly up, they placed her up for adoption because they were SIXTEEN YEARS OLD! That's like saying that any woman who gives up a child when they themselves are still a child is not allowed to have a child ever again. And having it documented? Have you watched it at all, their story shows just how much they love her. And they have a relationship with her, they see here, send letters pictures, etc.

16 and pregnant was and is a train wreck to show them doing an adoption showed another option and I think it was awesome. I also think at 16 that was their choice. That was over 5 years ago! At 16 what would you have done? Would you have gone on MTV? I bet yes because at 16 why wouldn't you go on tv and get paid?

I just think of their seasons on Teen Mom, between Catelynns mom and Tylers dad both looking Meth chic, PLUS his dad being in and out of prison. Those kids did the right thing.
I'm glad they showed it on TV, at least teens saw that they do have options and don't have to feel stuck with only 2 options.

Whenever I saw them visit Carly I cried, my heart ached for them because what they did was so hard but the best thing for them at the time. I remember watching them give Carly away and I cried with them. They are older now and deserve all this happiness.

yes, thank you, perhaps I should have said "sad" not horrible, but I still think its sad. Im not saying the biological mom was not upset or devastated by giving her baby up for adoption, but to me it seems sad for that child to someday be able to watch that process unfold on TV knowing her friends can see it as well. People and kids can be mean on the playground!!
yes, this show might have brought light to teenage pregnancy and adoption but it also brings about LOTS of copy cats.
a few years ago we had 7 teen girls in my school pregnant.
as for having more out of wedlock, that is my opinion, but mostly for having another baby publicly, she is famous for having a baby at 16. (it happens). This is more about all this reality TV crap.

correction, I dont remember saying because she had one at 16 means she shouldn't have another baby. Jess its not about her lacking the love for her baby and I never said she didnt feel the pain of letting her baby go. I don't doubt it was painful experience

Did you watch those episodes? That child will be proud of what her parents chose to do. She has wonderful loving parents and biological parents who love her too and her still in her life. That child would have had a horrible childhood if they kept her.
7 girls doesnt sound like much to me and 20 something years ago there were girls who were pregnant too. These shows dont make teens pregnant.

Congrats to them!! I really like these two and am rooting for them. And I think that when Carly gets older and watches the show, she'll see how much they love her and that they did what they thought was the right thing to give her the best life possible.
