UPDATE!!!! LONG VENT: Back from hospital and so frustrated I am ready to cry
UPDATE!
Well I am still home. I was able to get some light sleep. My contractions are still steady 2-3 min. apart but about the same intensity they were at the hospital so I guess I am going to wait a little more. I am hoping that by tonight I will be back in the hospital delivering b/c I dont know how much more of this I can take. I am thinking about calling my own dr's again and demanding one of them call me back. I just don't have the energy to fight with anyone, ya know. DH can't believe this. He hates South Nassau and never wants to go back after this experience. I am wondering if I am in labor like this, how long do they let it go if my cervix still doesn't dialate enough? I'm assuming that can happen. I am not going to be home in labor for a week like this. I will keep you updated. thank you for all your kind words and prayers I really appreciate it!

So last night when the on-call dr finally called me back after 3 messages he told me to come to the hospital when my conractions were 3-5 min apart. So at 2 in the morning my contractions were 4 min. apart and I was still bleeding (or what they call "bloody" show) so I decided to go. I get to the hospital, they hook me up the machines, but the dr. isn't even there. There is no dr there, only a resident (who by the way never once came in to see me). So the nurse checks me and says your cervix is still far back. Ok so she keeps me on the monitor and my conractions get more frequent and alot stronger. She speaks to the dr. who says he will be coming in at 8 to see me. So I am strapped to the bed still bleeding and my contraction progress to 2 min. apart. The shift's change and a the new nurse comes in at 7 and tells me the dr. should be there shortly. Around 9 when he still isnt there, I asked if I could get up and walk around. My contractions are now 1 1/2 min. apart. The dr finally comes to see me at 10, examines me and says well you are 50% effaced but only 2 cm dilated. Go home, eat something, take a bath and come back in a few hours or when the contractions are so bad you can't breathe! W T F!!!!! My contractions are so bad that I can't walk and breathe and they are 1 1/2 min. apart. Do they want me to come back when the baby is hanging out of me? 
I dont get it...what is the point of lamaze class and everyone telling you to go to the hospital when your contractions are 5 min. apart? And like I said to the dr., what if I go home and I start dilating quickly? He's like where do you live, I say Merrick, he said oh so do I. So I can meet you back here. DH is so ****** and so am I. Plus I am still bleeding. So he told me if it gets heavier like the worst day of my period than I should come bakc also.
The best is coming into the hospital they didn't let me walk. They made me use a wheel chair. Leaving when my contractions were far worse they didnt even offer a wheelchair, I had to walk. Walking from my room to the car I had 4 contractions where I had to stop, lean up again the wall and breathe for a few minutes.
Is it just this hospital and this dr, or is this what they all do? I am ready to just go to another hospital when I am ready to deliver b/c I dont know this dr from a whole in the wall anyway.

Did your Dr. come or was it the hospital Dr.? What hospital?
Honestly, I would feel so stressed out to delivers at that hospital. They told you the dr would not come HOURS after you showed up at the hospital???? Who was in charge???? I would have felt so "uncomfortable" and not "safe" to be there.
Then, make you walk to your car????

I am so frustrated for you!!!! I can't even imagine what you're going through. I seriously hate doctors that are so 'calm' about everything and don't understand that we haven't been through this 1000 times before.

I don't even know what to say. Is your Dr. available? I am amazed that they made you wait that long without the Dr. coming in to see how everything was going. I cannot beleive that they sent you home.

What hospital is that? Mine were 4 minutes apart at Winthrop but I was only 3cm, but 100% effaced and the stupid resident suggested I go home and come back when they are 2 minutes apart and after I almost tore his head off, my DH said I'm not bring her home...we are staying...and my doctor came in one hour later (most painful hour of my life) and checked me and I was 4cm and gave birth about 2 hours later! That is frustrating. If it's that bad - go back - you shouldn't be in pain like that.

During labor with DD#1 I went to the hospital 3 times. I was having regularcontractions from Friday to Sunday. We had to beg them to admit me on Sunday. If you keep having painful contractions, demand that they let you stay.

hopefully you are back at the hospital already. If not... go back and refuse to leave! That is INSANE. If your contractions are that close together, you should be there.

Honestly that is pretty standard procedure. The early you are admitted into the hospital the greater your chances for a c/section are. Everyone's labor is different so as a suggestion they ask you to come in when your contractions are 5 minutes apart just to check where you're at. I would however have been annoyed about the long wait for the doctor to check and then just going home. But if you can tolerate the pain your best bet is to labor at home as long as you can. Of course if you can't and require pain medication than you can insist on staying.

UGH..im annoyed for u..I dk what to say.
I can tell u like I did==it never got terrible with my daughter and they tried to tell me the same thing..bla bla..come in when they are so far apart..and needless to say i followed my gut==went in and I was 10 centimeters dilated...
follow your gut,..
they did put u on a fetal monitor when u went in right? how dilated were u and all?
I can't believe they sent u home.
my twins were delivered by a doc I saw 1x and it was awesome..
maybe a different hospital isn't a bad idea..I dk.

I have no experience at SN, I delivered at Mercy. They treated me like a queen, and yes, i got a wheelchair...
You poor thing!!!! I hope you go soon though.
Wishing you labor vibes...
And haven't these people ever heard of CERVADIL???

When I had my 1st, I was having bad contractions that were about 5 minutes apart for anout an hour. We went to the hospital and they sent us home too. They said when I am doubled over in pain and can barely talk then come back. I would say overall, from the beginning to the end I was in labor for 60 hours.
Just go with your gut feeling. Sorry you are not having such a great experience with your hospital. You will forget all about this once you meet your little one - which will be very very soon

I know its frustrating, the whole birth thing and waiting can totally be frustrating! But just think how much more relaxed and comfortable you will be laboring and relaxing at home. If you feel really uncomfortable, get into a lovely warm bath! And eat, once you get into the labor ward, you won't be able to eat...so eat and sleep and relax!!!
