Update: It's Over!!! (I think that by this time tomorrow...)
I will no longer 'officially' be pregnant!  I've gotten over the initial being sad about this- part and am waiting for it to (hopefully) come back negative so I can breathe a sigh of relief that my nightmare is over. 
I am SO tempted to ask the receptionist if there's any availability w/ Dr. K tomorrow - but I have an appointment next week so maybe I'm better off just waiting so he has some time to review my chart first- I'm sure he's swamped this week. I just want some answers and next steps so I have a focus these next few months....
UPDATE:
I got the call. They didn't give me my # for some reason but did say that it's below 5 so I'm no longer pregnant! I breathed the hugest sigh of relief!!! No more beta tests or organ level checks!!!!! Yeah! This past month has been awful and something I hope to never have to go through again- I'm so glad it's over!
She said 'take the next 3 months off and then give us a call to start over again'  I have an appt w/ Dr K next week which I feel as though I still want to keep- b/c I want to discuss all of this with him and get his opinion/view (directly from him and not some other dr.)... so we'll see what he says.

Seriously, this is EXACTLY how I feel. I went in today and told her that I was really HOPING that today was the day- I just want this beta to come back negative. I told her I never thought I'd see the day where I'd say that, and she said she understood given all that I had gone through this past month.
Then she had me write my name on a label and asked for my birth date to put on my tube of blood (I guess their label maker isn't set up yet since they just moved ) and said - "Oh, somebody has a birthday coming up!"- she was more excited than I am- lol.   
Now I wait for the call.....

That's why I want to meet w/ my dr... the other one never gave me any valid reasons (though EVERY nurse there has told me 3 months as well)... but I know other ppl have said their drs only made them wait 1 month.
I believe (one of the nurses mentioned) it has to do with the dose that they give you, as well as how many shots you're given (if you had to have it a 2nd time, etc... which I didn't.) I don't know if maybe there's any chance of any birth defects, etc... coming from it if we were to get pg again soon, and if so I wouldn't want to risk that... but I do wish I had some solid answers. I know they also said something about the fact that it 'could' linger in your body for that long I think... Someone on my PCOS board (diff. site) was told to come back in 4 weeks and they'd give her provera to start her cycling again... so I'm really not sure.
I felt kind of dumb keeping my appointment w/ my dr after the nurse told me to take off the next 3 months and THEN call back to get started again---- but I really want some answers, and I haven't spoken to MY dr since my first beta- so I'd like the opportunity to speak w/ him, KWIM? I want to know if he's leaning one way or the other if this was an etopic or just a bad pg, etc....

I'm glad it's over for you....and I think it's a good idea to keep the appointment. You will be much calmer and more rational now and can ask all the questions you need to ask and get all the information you need.

I felt the same way after it taking so long for my already low beta to drop. While I was sad it was over, I was also relieved so I can move on.

I'm glad this is all over for you, I know it's had to have been a terrible few weeks
I would still meet with your doctor to go over the cycle and find out what he plans on doing in the future. It's good to sit down and see what they are thinking and I'm sure being on the same page as him will help you get through the next few months.
