Ok so its not just me

Do you think that has to do with their new page? Or meaning MY yahoo?

Great question! We're all concerned about web page spoofing. Rest assured, the URL "m.www.yahoo.com" is a valid link to a new version of the Yahoo! homepage. The "m" will be removed from the URL sometime in mid-December.

Until then, if you manually enter a URL to access a different website, make sure to not to include the "m" before "www" or you will get an error message that the page cannot be displayed. When adding a URL to your browser favorites or bookmarks, the letter "m" should be left off as well.

Did you cut and paste this or type this? I was worried about a virus or web page hijack, etc.

www is optional. Anything before the "yahoo.com" is optional, and often depends on how the company separates it's servers. They have a whole series of servers, and they are just organizing them with letters, apparently. Many sites have letters and/or numbers before the www, or instead of the www.

I cut and pasted it from the Yahoo answers site.

I have had that for a while. I thought that was for closer servers. I'm outside of the US, so I thought it was to make a quicker connection.Chat Icon
