Toys/etc for 2-year old for long car trip
What do you guys recommend?
We have:
- a million books
- a million coloring books w/crayons
- Etch-a-Sketch
- those Wow color wonder books
- flashcards
What else can I keep her entertained with on a 7 hour car ride?  We don't have a DVD player.

Aw, thanks Diana 
DH is anti DVD player in our car 
C does fairly well in the car, we take enough road trips for her to be familiar with them, but really...*I* am bored in the car that long, I'd imagine it's even worse for C.

Do you want to take it just in case? I won't be using it! It's always a great diversion from having a meltdown! What time are you leaving to drive? Will she be sleeping - or at least nap?

You really are too sweet...I'll let you know, thank you!
We're leaving after she wakes up in the morning. So *hopefully* she'll nap but she takes super-short naps in the car (usually a 3 hour nap at home but no more than an hour in the car!).

Ugh - that's rough! Talk to DH - see if you can have it on hand just in case. Even if she watches one DVD - that will at least kill an hour!

DVD player is a MUST HAVE for any road trip longer than 2 hours. I too was "anti-DVD player" until we took our first long car trip with a MELTING DOWN 18 month old.
Now, for any car trip longer than 3 hours, it comes with us.
