Toddler - Not Pooping *UPDATE*
Potty trained DD (2 years old) ~1 month ago.
DD potty trained for pee in 1 day. Has never had an accident. Still wears a diaper for nap and bed though.
Pooping if a whole different issue. Initially, she pooped during nap time and there was no change in regularity.
As of today she hasn't pooped in 4-5 days. When she is on the potty and she feels like it's coming she jumps up.
I have been doing everything I can to help her out! Limit dairy, lots of fruits and veggies, water, apple/pear juice, prunes, belly massage.
Gave her Miralax today.
Am I missing anything?
I am trying really hard to avoid suppositories and/or enemas b/c she will be SO TRAUMATIZED. She freaks out when I take a rectal temp when she is sick! I don't want to make the pooping issue even worse!
Thanks for reading. Send her some poopy vibes!
I never thought I would be so obsessed with poop in my life!
UPDATE: Thanks for all of the replies ladies! She had more Miralax today and pooped in her diaper during nap time. HUGE. I was just so happy that she pooped I didn't care about it being in the potty or not. I made a huge deal about what a good job she did (even though it happened in her sleep and she really did nothing!) Her tummy is still a little distended and I know she needs to go more, but at least this should start things going.

Give the miralax for a few days, also br sure to give her plenty of water, astthat's what helps it work.
Do you give her stuff to do while she is trying to poop? Books, a crayon and coloring book, a game or movie on your phone? Something to distract from what's going on and to also get her to sit there longer.
Good luck!!

Thanks for the support!
I do give her stuff for entertainment to get her to stay on the potty longer. And it works for a little, but I think as soon as she feels anything happening she tenses up and jumps off.
Hoping the Miralax works soon!

Re: Toddler - Not Pooping
I give my DD pears and white grape juice to keep her going. She had some anxiety when she first potty trained and it would take her 10 trips to the potty before she would actually go. 2 months later she is fine.

Re: Toddler - Not Pooping
We are going through the SAME thing. DD is great with peeing on the potty. No issues at all But pooping is another story! She will only poop in a pull up or her underwear She will tell me she has to go poopy, sit on the potty, and then spring right back up saying- I don't have to go. This will go on 10 times in a row until she finally just poops her pants. I really think it's a fear. She also has very hard poops- totally constipated. Dr recommended prune juice, etc- nothign works. Dr said that when they hold their poop in the colon reabsorbs the water and they end up super constipated. Then it hurts to go and it perpetuates the fear. A viscious cycle. I wish I had some answers- I coudl use them myself!

Re: Toddler - Not Pooping
When DS was getting up to early. I started to sit and read a book to him to distract him. It helped now he likes to read and poop.

I could have written this word for word! We're going through the same EXACT thing with DS (turned 3 in June).

Re: Toddler - Not Pooping
What I've told my little guy is 'poops don't want to stay in- they want to go with their pee pee friends' and 'if you keep them in your tummy will be sad/ there will be no room for Hershey kisses' etc
Also gave him Hershey kisses when he'd let them out

Toddler - Not Pooping
We resorted to bribery - thankfully the dollar store had a lot of cool things that DS was interested in. It's common with toddlers to have issues with pooping on the potty.

Re: Toddler - Not Pooping
My daughter would also jump off the toilet once she felt it coming... Don't know if what I did was right, but I forced her to stay on. She would cry, but eventually everything came out.
I also told her that the kaka wants to come out, and if it doesn't her tummy could hurt... Something clicked in her head and she was like ohhhh, she finally started going easier .
At one point she was backed up for 5 days, I got scared and ended up doing the suppository, 30 mins later... Huge poop, and relief for her. Miralax really did nothing for her,

Toddler - Not Pooping *UPDATE*
Great update! I would give her a little miralax over the next few days just to keep her regular for a bit. Slowly give less and less and her body should re-regulate itself. (At least it always did for my older DD)
