This kid only wants to eat Puffs WWYD HELP!
he only wants to eat puffs and nurse. I have been making him three meals a day that literally go in the garbage. I have tried purees/table food ect Two weeks ago he couldn't get enough food and now nothing.
Would you still try to give him three meals a day or lay of the food and just nurse for a while.
Also,he LOVES puffs but I see those as more of a snack or treat. WOuld you still give those to him even though he will not eat real food?
I'm not concernedc for his health bc he is nursing so much I'm just frustrated and hope that this passes fast. I'mhoping it is just teething related

I think its a phase, I would try to not get too worked up about it. When he's ready and hungry, he'll eat the other stuff...DD this for a short period of time.
Have you tried letting him feed himself at all?

Yes! I have tried it all. Wouldl you still give his the puffs?

I would let him have a few, but that's it. If you offered the other food and he doesn't eat it, just put it away. When he wants to, he'll start eating...and since he's BFing and getting his nutrients, like you said, I wouldn't worry too much
Hang in there, I'm sure its a phase!

I have tried purees, chunks or table food, fed him,let him feed himslef with food all of the tray. Last night I offerd him chicken sweet pot puree, just plain sw pot chunks,spinach and pot puree,pieces of mango, pieces of tofu and NADA! He used to love all of these thinns

I would still give him puffs to snack on but necessarily as "meals", even if it's the only thing he'll eat. I'm sure it's just a phase. As long as he is still nursing, I'm sure he's fine. He'll eat when he's hungry.

I'm willing to bet it's just teething. DS went through something similar! He was refusing solids, but would eat crunchers!

I would stop giving the puffs (but, I should say this is why I am not giving them to luce EVER. b/c the same thing happened to my niece and she is a terrible eater now...but they never stopped giving them to her..sorry for the digression  )
he is probably nursing more b/c of the teething (luce does this) but the puffs I would get rid of.
at his 6 month appt, the ped told me he should be getting 3 meals and 2 "snacks" a day, and that if I was giving him 3 meals, his "snacks" would be his bottles/nursing sessions.
so by giving him something else, it takes away from his meals, kwim?

sometimes they are just picky.
like this weekend, I had yummy green beans ready for him, and he wouldn't eat. we were at a party so I gave him some eggplant parm and he ate that up!
then I offered him the beans for dinner and he ate them then, so I think they get in "moods' even this young.
or yesterday, wouldn't eat his farina (which he loves) and only wanted fruit. then at night he dogged his "soup" of potatoes, carrots, and zucchini with homemade broth.
usually I try one thing and I have a back up. and when he doesn't eat I just make sure he gets more milk.
in your shoes, I would take a litte out of the container and offer it. if he doesn't eat it, I would freeze the rest for another day. no reason to waste your time, money, and effort!!!
he WILL eat again!!!

I never know what Braedan is going to eat -we went through a phase for about two weeks- a couple of weeks ago that he only ate puffs and cheerios with me - at daycare ate most of his food - but now he is back to eating everything- every now and then he says no to certain foods or textures
now i just only put a small spoonful of the food i thawed in a separate dish and if heats that i give more - it is also strange that is offere something new first he wo't eat it till after i give him something he likes
both our boys are not small so don't stress too much - they are getting the nutirents they need
just keep trying but i only offer one or two foods tops per meal and i repeat throughout the day

It's a phase. There was a period of time my DD was on the cheerio and cheese diet. That was all she would eat. It lasted a couple of weeks and then she went back to her normal eating habits
Currently she seems to be on a goldfish only diet. I don't fight it. It's a phase and it won't make her an awful eater down the road.
