Weirdly enough i just finished binging the entire series like 2 weeks ago. I feel an emptiness now without having more episodes to watch.... and miss James Gandolfini.
I watched the show 20 years ago when it was on the air but i was younger and although i loved it could only appreciate it for how excellent it was now.
I recommend rewatching if you havent seen it since High school/College!

One of the best series ever! That first season....perfection! But how the hell is it 20 years already???!!! That is just unbelievable to me.

I think he definitely gets killed... but not necessarily in that moment. The ending made me feel that regardless he will have to look over his shoulder at all times. Not really a life anyone wants to live.

I wouldnt compare this to goodfellas or godfather really. Yes the mob component is there but like pp said there is so much more to it.
I think it is more comparable to mad men and breaking bad. It was an anti hero series - set the ground work for the others. James gandolfini and edie falco are incredible to watch

I guess everyone takes what they take from art in any form. I see goodfellas and Bronx tale in how it’s so common this life they live. It’s normal.
And personally , where i grew up and how... it’s pretty relatable. This show makes me laugh at the simplest things.
And yes. I agree with the other aspects. Pretty deep when you learn the characters

I never watched the series but have somehow seen the last scene many times.
Friends has apparently become a binge show for the youngins. I wouldn't have thought it would hold up now but I guess it has. The Office is a big one, too and that I think has 100% held up and doesn't feel dated at all.
I liked Sex and the City when it was on (the series, not those godawful movies) but I feel like it would be kind of dated now.

I totally get where you are coming from... and the humor in the show is GREAT. Uncle Junior to me was the funniest character on the show!!

I loved it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have no idea why I never watched until now

I have no desire either..I watched a few episodes half ass when it was on because my DH was watching it. Never could get into it. I knew about the finale too because my family was watching it in the other room and they thought I shut the tv off on them  
I liked the Bronx take, god father and good fellas but Sopranos - no interest whatsoever
