The end of a crank era

Alex AMAZED me this weekend. We drove 8+ hours to and from Portsmouth, NH, and she didn't crank, fuss or cry in the car. Not once! She was an absolute dream, amazing, happy, laughing, funny, charming, etc.

So, I think I am no longer entitled to the LIF mommy crown to the crankiest monkey. Anyone prepared to inherit the title from me? Chat Icon Chat Icon

After the weekend I had with my 17 month old DS son, I can EASILY inherit the crown... Any perks to it?

Yup.

Just ignore them.

And use the timeout corner. Heartily. Chat Icon

Oh, and teach them to say "I'm just cranky, leave me alone please"mChat Icon

How do you ignore someone literally hanging on your legs saying "mommy mommy mommy, up up up" over and over and over??? Is there a trick to this that I don't know of? Because I could use the advice....

I just keep ignoring her and try my best to keep myself busy doing something. I will also look down and tell her that I won't respond to her until she calms down and behaves appropriately.

She still cranks, tantrums and drags herself around on my leg. But they have certainly lessened. Now she even walks herself to her room, screams bloody murder, calms down, comes out and says I'm ready to be a good girl now mommy Chat Icon
